ParticipantHere’s the thing though…. Huntley looks AWWWWEFULLLL. I went to the scrimmage where he seemed to be getting most of the reps. He HAD to be sub 50% in his throws. I counted a number of balls batted down at the line. A number of throws into coverage. Jump balls and throws off the back foot. While there were no interceptions I think that was a matter of luck than skill.
I am not sold on Bateman as he played at the end of practice against weak defense.
I truly believe at this point that Huntley may never see of the field with Shelly and Sears coming into the program. I hope I am wrong on Huntley but I truly did not think he looked good.

ParticipantThat is tough but not suprising… Utah Football is the hottest athletic/entertainment property in the state right now. It is simply the forces of supply and demand. I have been on the waiting list for over a DECADE for a pass with no luck. I am sorry it is becoming so expensive but it really is a good problem to have as it simply demonstrates the interest the Utes have.

ParticipantThis makes me sick… Perhaps I am too red goggled but I simply cannot see how Utah could ever lose out to Creighton for a recruit. Utah brings a rich tradition, heavy investment (facilities that are likely better than most NBA facilities), and the prestige of the P12. To the extent they are whiffing here should lead to questions.
I have always believed that Utah could be a solid program in FOOTBALL with the expectations of rare title winning teams. Not so with BASKETBALL… Utah should perennially be in the top 3-4 programs EVERY YEAR in the P12. They have the prestige, facilities, conference, access to talent and fan base for it to be so.

ParticipantHahaha. Excellent. Greg Hughes and his troupe of asshats deserve all the mockery we can afford to heap on them. Well done.

ParticipantFrom what I am hearing it is because he has been the most accurate “thrower” thus far in camp. Hitting everyone and “dropping dimes” was what the radio said this morning.

ParticipantFurther… I suspect I could (depsite the record that places Utah in the top 3rd) could argue that Utah was really the 5th or 6th best team in the conference. When USC gets into the dance and we don’t is solidifies that notion.

ParticipantYes, they have been in the top 3-4 BUT… The trajectory seems way off though. Two years ago after a Sweet 16 run and giving Duke all they could handle I did not see as big of a gulf between Utah and, say, Arizona as I do today. Some teams continue to chug – Utah has followed up with Sweet 16 to Round of 32 to 1 round NIT loss.
