You answered your own question. The “committee” is just looking for any excuse to insert Bama into the CFP. If SMU loses to Clemson, say hello to the Tide.

Free throws have been a bugaboo for the Smith-led Utes for the last couple of seasons. At the Arizona game last season that Utah lost in 3 OTs, the Utes shot 47 percent from the line. They shoot just 50 percent, 50 percent!!! and the game doesn’t even go into OT. There was also a close loss to ASU in that same homestand where the Utes only hit…[Read more]

I don’t know about that. Marion is seen as the leading candidate for the HC job at Sam Houston State. Even if he does come to Utah, he’s an up and comer and you might only have him for one season before he takes a HC job somewhere else.

Same here…I’m hoping all of the underdogs win and sprinkle some shit in the CFP’s rice bowl. Would love to see how the “committee” handles an 11-2 SMU after a loss to Clemson. They’re most likely out so that Bama can get its foot in the door.

But if UNLV beats Boise State in the MWC CG, they’ll likely make the CFP as a #12 seed. Now, who could have predicted that before the season started?

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Why would an OC who has designed a fast-paced offense want to coach under Whitt? in the forum Football 15 hours, 49 minutes ago
I see a lot of people commenting about money, opportunity, etc…lest we forget, in Andy Ludwig Utah had the second highest paid offensive coordinator in the nation, making what some OCs in the SEC and B1G make look like chump change. Money is not the issue here. Guaranteed that if Utah wanted Arbuckle and Arbuckle wanted Utah, that deal would…[Read more]

Brother, I’ve seen a few players ruin the start of their pro careers by playing in a bowl game and getting injured. Could it be that their having to play in the bowl game is written into their NIL contract?

I’m not hating but I sincerely doubt Mateer would come to Utah. A lot of high-caliber, deep pocketed programs are going to be losing QBs after this season. Honestly, Utah picked a bad time to have a horrific season.

I just read that he was at the Texas vs A&M game. Hard to believe it won’t be one of those two schools.

LOL…Tony, can you imagine how much more entitled Boise State fans will become if they win the CFP? The worst times I’ve had at RES with fans have been at games versus the Broncos and the TDS.

USC has gotten worse every season since Riley arrived in LA. If it wasn’t for his gargantuan buyout, Riley would have received his walking papers after this season. As long as he’s there and Uncle Phil keeps funding Oregon, all that’s going to happen is that the cream of SoCal’s recruits is going to continue making the trek to Eugene. Believe…[Read more]

I agree…no matter his subpar record the last two seasons at FAU’s head coach, his resume speaks for itself. I would say the same thing about Mullen with the caveat that he’s been away from the game since the 2021 season.

Personally, I think Utah would be lucky to get Herman. How soon we forget, Herman went 22-4 as Houston’s head coach and 32-18 as Texas’s head coach. He’s also 5-1 in bowl games and was Texas’ head coach when they demolished Utah 38-10 in the 2019 Alamo Bowl. He’s already coached in and won in an environment that’s greater in pressure than anything…[Read more]

Mateer is a good QB. If he decides to leave Wazzu, he’ll have many suitors ala Cam Ward. I’m not certain that Utah will be able to outbid teams like Miami, etc.. for his services.

Miami better hope that Clemson beats SMU in the ACC CG. If Clemson wins, I think SMU gets in as well and Miami misses the cut.
