Personally, I can’t consider the actual season a disappointment. If the full complement of players (Rising, Kuithe, Barton, Bernard, etc…) had been available the entire season and the team was on the cusp of finishing 8-4, then that would be a disappointment. As it is, given all of the injuries, they’ve kind of over performed.

Johnson just isn’t a QB period. The only way he’ll see success at that position is by playing at a lower level where his athleticism overwhelms the competition. Nate Johnson no longer with the team? I guess Whitt and Lud laid it out for him and him playing QB in the future was not in the cards. If he’s bound and determined to play QB regularly, he’ll only be able to do that at the FCS or Division 2 level.

Rising is obviously as intelligent as he is talented in the football field. That quote about him being set for life as a Ute couldn’t be more true. Now imagine if he’s somehow able to lead the reloaded Items to the Promised Land next year? He won’t be able to buy a drink or a meal in the valley for the rest of his life.

I’m pretty certain that’s happening already in other teams.

Why would you take away Barnes’ scholarship when there are guys that are on the team that can’t get on the field and have one? It’s possible that Klubnik transfers. He’s said that he isn’t going anywhere but you never know. I know that Dabo has criticized his decision making a couple of times this season (like after the game versus Miami) and that his performance has been relatively mediocre compared to expectations.

I sure hope Utah doesn’t play Miami.

My worst memories of playing them are the 2018 CCG and the 2020 regular season game in Seattle where we were up 21-0 at HT and then collapsed in the second half. For some reason, Utah hardly ever caught a break versus Washington.
