Might as well be back unless he’s tired of football. If he has any aspirations of playing at the next level sitting out his last college season isn’t going to help him.

Great news. I hope he’s back to what he was before the injury.

Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers both are one of those guys. Hard to believe that neither was recruited out of high school and had to go the JUCO route to play D1 football.

You’re absolutely right. I mean, there’s a reason why Alabama enticed Saban away from the Dolphins. No team is immune from long periods of failure. I really hope that Utah makes the right hire after Whitt leaves and that Scalley makes the cut as a HC.

It’s really interesting that teams like USC and Miami, blue bloods located in the best recruiting areas in the country, continually struggle even though they have great recruiting classes and have, supposedly, the best coaches money can buy.

I think fans will show up next Saturday. It’s the last Ute home football fix for nine months and people will show up just to see Coach Prime and the Buffs. I’m always at the stadium as soon as the gates open because I like to walk around the stadium before going to my seat, but that’s just me. I’m sure a lot of people come from far away or are…[Read more]

Appreciate the insights. I always wondered how Martinez slipped through the cracks. I guess stuff like that happens and it’s probably more often than we think.

Rick, you’re not wrong. There are pros/cons to every situation. I remember when Herbert came back for his senior season at Oregon when everyone thought that he would leave. However, college football has changed so drastically in such a short time because of NIL that I wonder if the “college experience” really still exists for elite athletes…[Read more]

Personally, I think Oregon will easily beat Washington in a rematch. The Huskies have been tempting fate all season (they’ve won five games y a TD or less) and I think Oregon beats them by at least two scores in Vegas. Oregon has a much better defense, much better running game, and a passing attack maybe just a hair behind Washington’s, if that.…[Read more]

LOL…all I ask is that you don’t ghost me when that date comes…but remember my caveat…if the injury is one that requires a long period of rehabilitation, I agree that he’ll be back. LOL…regarding my delivery, facts don’t give a shit about feelings. You should get used to that.

Yeah, he doesn’t even have 1250 yards rushing for his career. Maybe the OP meant to say that Utah needs JJ to gain at least 1250 yards a year for the system to work as intended.

I thought so too, but then I saw him on the sidelines a couple of weeks after his “injury” and he seemed completely normal. I would have thought he’d have bandages or swelling or discoloration in his face but he looked healthy and fit. Just another footnote in this head scratching season.

Whatever happened to Bernard? Probably the strangest season ending injury out of the group.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Possible Bowl Location for Utah? in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
San Diego is a bit different. There’s some separation between say the Gaslight District and the border. In El Paso, downtown is easily within walking distance of the Rio Grande.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Washington at Oregon State in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
I’d be interested to see how they hold up against other teams that have better players on offense and defense. I imagine that if they make it in the 4th position and play Georgia, it could get ugly for them really quickly. If their passing game isn’t working, they really have nothing to fall back on because there’s no way that they’re going to…[Read more]

The heads on sticks was in Juarez across the border. I lived in El Paso for a couple of years and it was always interesting driving to work east on I-10 and seeing the third world from a car window.

If Washington goes to the CFP, it’s going to get utterly annihilated. They may be undefeated but they have so many glaring holes on both sides of the ball.

Not sure I want to be within a 100 miles of El Paso right about now…things have changed quite a bit since 2011.

I have to wonder, now that we’re going to be entering the 12 team (and maybe more in the future) playoff system, should be shitcan the whole bowl system? I mean, if you look at all of the other college divisions that have playoffs, there are no bowls. At that point, bowls look irrelevant and will probably lose a massive amount of interest due to…[Read more]
