I sure hope that Whitt lets Arbuckle do his thing come hell or high water.

All I’ve heard the last couple of years is how UCF is a power on the rise, excellent facilities, Bounce House, great recruiting classes, bla, bla, bla… I guess that they can always bring Scott Frost back to win them another “NC”.

Does Ike have any local relatives? If so, give him/her a clipboard and a whistle.

For what it’s worth, here are the salaries of current Big 12 football head coaches with the exception of Sitake:
Highest-Paid Big 12 Football Coaches
1. Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State – $7.75 million
2. Lance Leipold, Kansas – $7.5 million
3. Kyle Whittingham, Utah – $6.525 million

$500-600K is damn good money, especially if you live a simple life and invest significant portions of it over, say a decade-long career. It’s chump change though compared to what Canadian hockey players make in the NHL.

Urban Meyer, but I only chose him because Ron McBride is too old.

Well, to that point, he said today during his press conference words to the effect that he would step down when he thought that he was no longer value added to the team.

Crazy that the best Winnipeg could do for a QB was 36 year old Zach Collaros. Do CFL teams not pay much? If they don’t, moving to another country for football might not be worth the hassle.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Whitt apologists can suck it! in the forum Football 1 week, 2 days ago
Well, here’s the thing Aloha…it all depends on what Utah wants to be. If it wants to sit at the college football “big boy” table, then there’s more than enough evidence that sticking with Whitt isn’t going to get them there. If it wants to remain a middling power, then by all means stick with Whitt until his contract runs out at the end of the…[Read more]

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Defense? in the forum Football 1 week, 3 days ago
I don’t think the defense’s fatigue was the issue last night. Other than ISU’s first drive, where they forced a punt, the defense consistently gave up yards all night. I’d blame that on ISU’s good offensive scheme and players, as well as Utah not being as skilled and experienced on defense as in previous seasons.

The Miami Ute replied to the topic Sure it's conjecture, but I think this team is 8-4 at worst with Barnes and JJ. in the forum Football 1 week, 3 days ago
I don’t think you’re wrong and many other posters have sort of alluded to the same thing. JJ has rushed for over 700 yards this season for Arkansas. I think a tandem of JJ and Bernard, plus having Barnes as the starting QB, would have given defenses a lot more to think about and maybe flips all those one score losses (ASU, Houston, TCU, BYU, and…[Read more]

I would say that it’s the worst “return on investment” team in the nation. The amount of resources devoted to this team compared with what the end result is, well, let’s just say that if it was a business it would be entering Chapter 11 bankruptcy status.

To me, it didn’t look like Bottari had to get rid of the ball or he was going to be sacked, but. again, that’s just me. Was there a a defender in the area, yeah, sure…but it didn’t look like the guy was in his grill about to lay hands on him. I mean, Bottari wasn’t even scrambling for his life on the play…it looked like a straight dropback…

It was a weird call in the sense that Bottari wasn’t under extreme pressure and it looked like the ball just took off on him. I’ve been watching football for a very long time and I can’t recall a flag being thrown for intentional grounding under similar conditions in the past.
