Two things would keep the betting line closer than what it should have been…One, Utah was playing at home in a stadium where they’d won, up to that point, 18 straight home games. That’s enough to give the bookies some pause. Two, Utah’s brand and the respect they’ve accumulated nationally over the last decade plus or so would also act as a…[Read more]

    Logan Fano as well.

If you watch the video, it almost makes it seem as if Oregon was the plucky underdog with no chance against the mighty Utes. The reality was just the opposite. That’s what I meant by “propaganda”. Subject closed.

  • The Miami Ute replied to the topic Outcoached in the forum Football 12 months ago

Again, no disrespect to you. The issue is quite simple…Oregon came into Rice-Eccles with all of their star players available and healthy. That included the guy who’s made the most FBS starts in history. The Utes could have all of George Halas, Don Shula and Bill Bellichick roaming their sideline and they still would have lost because they…[Read more]

No disrespect to you ORute, but I wipe my ass with that video. Oregon hasn’t been shit in the past, they ain’t shit now, and they’re never going to be shit in the future. They beat us because we’re missing 10-12 of our BEST PLAYERS while they’re healthy across the board, end of story. If Oregon had come in to Rice-Eccles with Ty Thompson as the…[Read more]

Yeah, must be nice to have a billionaire subsidize your program to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. Too bad they haven’t won a ‘ship. They sure as shit won’t win one as a member of the B1G.

  • I agree with you 2008. Use the case of Penix and Nix as examples. Both of those guys have looked much better at Washington and Oregon than they ever did at Indiana and Auburn. I personally think that if you put Rising on a team that offense-focused and you surround him 5 and high 4 star recruits at the skill positions, he’s got the potential to…[Read more]

  • We don’t. That’s one of the main problems of him coming back another year. He might not be the same player he was pre-injury and there’s no guarantee he doesn’t get injured again.

  • The Miami Ute replied to the topic Whitt's presser in the forum Football 12 months ago

Thanks Charlie. Obviously, not being in the Utah inner circle gives a lot of room for conjecture. I just keep going back to the Spring Game and remembering how Rose performed vis-à-vis Barnes and Johnson. If Rose wasn’t head and shoulders above the other two in that game, it wasn’t far from that. I remember coming away from that game feeling…[Read more]

  • That 2011 Jon Hays team had a completely healthy John White IV for the whole season. The Wolfman rushed for over 1500 yards that year and was the main reason why the Utes did anything.

  • The Miami Ute replied to the topic Whitt's presser in the forum Football 12 months ago

Can someone explain to me in simple language, so that I can understand it, why Rose isn’t even getting a sniff of the field? If he’s healthy and has command of the playbook, why haven’t we seen him at times that the other QBs struggle? The only thing I can think of is that his Spring Game performance was a mirage and not a real reflection of his…[Read more]

  • The Miami Ute replied to the topic Rising and Kuithe in the forum Football 12 months ago

There’s that…and there’s also the nagging doubt in the back of your mind whether A. They’ll return to a reasonable facsimile of what they were. They wouldn’t be the first players to return as lesser versions of the original after suffering a serious injury. And B. It’s a reasonable possibility to think that injuries will surface again with…[Read more]

  • I picked 8-4 and that was under the assumption that we’d see both Rising and Kuithe this season. Unreal that Utah is 6-2 having more casualties than the French in World War I.

  • Moore is benched. He’s regressed as the season has gone on and Kelly had enough. Right now, Ethan Garbers has taken control of the QB1 position.

  • Money. Plain and simple. If another NIL collective can double or triple what he’s getting at Utah, that would make him think twice. In addition to that, there’s also the attraction of going to a team where the offense is the main focus and he’s surrounded by 5/high 4 talent. Definitely not saying he’s leaving but it would be a tempting…[Read more]

  • The Miami Ute replied to the topic Vaki and our receivers in the forum Football 12 months ago

What’s your take? Do you think Rising is coming back next year or is he out the door?

  • The Miami Ute replied to the topic Vaki and our receivers in the forum Football 12 months ago

Eagle, I’ll put it this way…if you take the same scenario that you just outlined and, instead of Whitt being the HC, it’s a second or third year HC, that person is right now getting roasted slowly over an open fire. Whitt has rightly so built up an insane amount of credit with us, so, personally speaking, I’ll just let bygones be bygones on…[Read more]

  • The Miami Ute replied to the topic Vaki and our receivers in the forum Football 12 months ago

Eagle covered most of it. From my viewpoint, it looked as if Oregon made the conscious decision to take away Vaki from Utah’s offense. It’s almost as if they thought that Utah had no other players that could hurt them besides Vaki.
