I don’t know…I firmly believe that teams like TT, Baylor, and TCU (for starters) have plenty of potential to have good seasons. I voted “Good”. The team still finished with a decent record even with a slew of injuries to key contributors. That has to count for something. I’d think that the motivation of the guys who were getting the opportunity to start in a bowl game would be quite high. My biggest concern is the addiction to Barnes when he’s proven in copious game tape that he’s not a P5 QB.

If Barnes does come back it’ll be solely because no other team wants him. And, honestly, who could blame those teams?

Did you know that Jackson was like the #7 ranked QB in the 2020 HS recruiting class? I was shocked when I saw that because normally Utah would never be in play for a guy rated so high in any position.

Maybe you’re right. After all, he’s much closer to the end his career than the beginning. I saw things this season that left me scratching my head and still don’t understand. After a performance like tonight’s, Barnes did himself a lot of harm. I sincerely doubt any top level FCS program would even be interested.

I’m at the game. Barnes has been as horrible in person as on TV. Love the guy as a placeholder QB but he can’t play another down for Utah. We’ve gone well past the point of diminishing returns with him.
