Only counter to that is Utah did well enough in 2023 with the same injury troubles and in my view significantly harder schedule. This season was a regression by most standards. It was the way they lost that has many people concerned. It was clearly coaching decisions and getting out coached by subjectively worst teams.

Been listed as Assistant Coach/Offensive line since 2017. Has these extensive accolades on his bio including how well Booker did:
As the co-offensive coordinator with oversight of the run game in 2015, Harding was instrumental in the career of another NFL draft pick in running back Devontae Booker (2016 to Denver).
What’s his deal? Just h…[Read more]

Offensive guys have a lot of gripes but also not a lot of film to put out there for other teams.
Makes me wonder obviously about a lot of things. Could be Whitt and Scalley working wonders. Could be not a lot of market space for what Utah had offensively. I assumed Fano would be poached heavily. -
EagleMountainUte replied to the topic Why would an OC who has designed a fast-paced offense want to coach under Whitt? in the forum Football 16 hours, 7 minutes ago
I think Utah’s current coaching situation could be unappealing for a lot of coordinators. Let’s be honest any idiot is going to come in and “improve” Utah for 2025 and you have to watch for 2026 to see the real sauce. Mainly because the floor is so low on the offense after 2023 and 2024. Whitt hasn’t exactly propelled his coordinators to head coac…[Read more]

Or Utah didn’t want to pay the price. It could have been steep to draw him away. I don’t think it was one just one reason.

My assumption with no evidence other than what usually happens…Arbuckle used Utah to leverage Oklahoma for more money.

Let’s just see if an OC can string together a few quarters of football with some intelligence.

I feel like it is a win/win to take the job. Utah will see improvement almost immediately probably.

I mean if these rumored OC targets are true it really seems like Scalley wants to pass the ball a lot.

FSU thought it would IMPROVE??! Their situation? I mean UCF was horribly coached. 2024 is a weird one for sure.

How do we know he was promised anything?
I think it is a much worst scenario. Utah coaching is just bad at evaluating Quarterbacks.
They wanted Zach Wilson to start at safety. They switched a couple other gamers to the defensive side of the ball. We assume that it was for the best but I just challenge their ability to evaluate QBs.

Scalley and Jay Hill as DC would be my realistic and most ideal.
OC no way in hell do I want Dan Mullen. I am game for whatever. 2025 will probably be an improvement over this disaster offense.
