I don’t expect us to compete for the same players as Kansas or Carolina type players but when I see Utah State thriving with a couple dudes who played for Montana State and a group of other players from really all over the world it makes me wonder how hard the Utah Mball program really works to find the best players. NIL money is important but I think plenty of players out there jump at the chance to play in the B12. I say show Ben Carlson, Lovering, Erickson and Tarlac the door and go find some ballers.

If there is one sport Utah should thrive in it’s MBB IMO. Great history (not just from 50 years ago), great facilities (although I think the Huntsman Ctr is kind of showing its’ age). NBA City–not many B12 programs can say that. Current NBA players from Utah. I’d much rather have to recruit players to Salt Lake City than Ames, IA, Manhattan, KS, etc. Others have mentioned it–we just need better players and athletes–more Deivon Smith’s–fewer Ben Carlson’s. Coaches need to coach and develop–but they need players with the skill set. And–it’s going to be embarrassing if we continue to have 50% capacity attendance. In the PAC12 that is normal–not in the B12.

If Keita wants to play major pro sports he should talk to Whitt about playing DE for the football team. I could see him in NFL before NBA.
