Love this post. Well done. I get it’s been a rough couple of years but geez, we’re a healthy QB away from having two amazing seasons. My concern, as has been expressed by others, lies simply in not understanding why there is such a grand canyon drop off between QB1 and QB2. I get that QB1 gets most of the reps, but man – Cam goes down and we become at best a .500 team. I’m not OK with that and would like to see better results from QB2. The transfer portal has made this more difficult because if you’re a really good QB2 you can likely go start somewhere else and get some NIL money as well. Utah will be fine. Very few programs, short of the top 5 programs in the nation, can sustain success for too long. There are always ebbs and flows. Unfortunately, at the moment, BYU is flowing and Utah is ebbing and that’s a tough pill to swallow. But no one should be that surprised. Injuries happen and the universe throws weird stuff at different teams every year. I just hope we can right the ship before it sinks.

I certainly thought about selling. Not for long though. This rivalry has too much history and craziness. Vegas has TDS by only 2-4 points. Maybe Vegas disrespects TDS but I wouldn’t at all be surprised if it was close. I think people are crazy to be selling their tickets. It will be great to be back in RES for a Holy War game.

Thx for sharing this. I give a lot of kudos to whomever is doing this. It’s gotta be crazy difficult to work through these problems week to week. Above and beyond physically reconstructing the stadium concourses, I appreciate the fact that they’re at least consistently trying to make improvements to the fan experience.

Perhaps it’s just me – but all the BYU fans in my neighborhood seem far more excited about this football game than myself and the other Ute fans that also live around me. When I run into them outside or at church, they are always wanting to engage me and get my thoughts and feelings about the game. I have had a difficult time really engaging them and having any sort of good discussion. As BYU fans, this game means a lot more to them than to me. It is also obvious to me they are excited that we have some injuries and it’s almost like they smell blood which is sort of funny. They seem to know that if we were at full health they wouldn’t have a shot.
My thoughts on the game? Call me naive but I really feel a lot like this game that I did about the Colorado State game last year. Our recruiting, speed and depth have improved year over year and I am thinking our athleticism and speed will shot itself. Joe Williams, our back up running back will run circles around anyone on the Y’s D. We really should win this game. My only concern is how much more the Y players (and fans as I’ve mentioned) seem to be up for this game.
Looking forward to watching the game and hope we win.

Ditto. My seats are in section V off of portal 21 and the bathroom near it has about 8-10 urinals – all had privacy walls. A small spend for a nice upgrade Chris!!

A quick comment about the technical that was thrown at the game for this – not sure how many people noticed this – whatever it was that was thrown on the court, it happened right after Emery sucker punched Brandon. As the players were walking back from that end of the court, Tucker reached down and picked up what looked like a piece of paper off the court and just chucked it behind the bench. No big deal, no harm done. Immediately afterwards, one of the assistant BYU coaches came running over to the ref, all worked up, pointing out to the ref that something else had been thrown onto the court. The ref looked at him kind of smirky as if he was thinking, “calm down man”. Naturally at that moment there was a lot of emotion at the moment but still. Get a life dude.
