  • I’m sure you’re right, but I believe Texas AM paid Jimbo Fisher $76MM to leave, which is insane.

  • Here’s a crazy thought… What would you think if Lincoln Riley gets fired this year, Morgan Scalley takes over as our head coach, and Riley joins Utah as our OC? Riley still has 8 years left on his $110MM contract, so USC would be footing the bill. Seems like a match made in heaven and rumors are Riley already tried to hire Morgan. We’d have a pro…[Read more]

  • I think there is a difference between “pay to play” and “pay for play.” Ryan Smith and the collectives are paying the players for play. Paying to play would imply players are allowed to play at BYU for money reasons when they wouldn’t otherwise be eligible.

  • You’re totally right. I’m not very good at responding to the right comment. My post is in response to those that say Utah’s in-state talent isn’t very good or important to recruiting. Clearly it is to this year’s team. And, as pointed out, we often don’t get the state’s best talent. Imagine if we got it all… wouldn’t mind having had guys like Jax…[Read more]

  • I could be wrong, but pretty sure all them played high school in Utah. But you’re right several are not top 10 or didn’t sign with Utah out of high school. The OP says in-state recruiting is in the decline… as pointed out, I don’t think that’s true. But several comments were made that in-state talent isn’t that great and not important. I don’t thi…[Read more]

  • Copying this list from another thread. Not sure if they’re all “lighting things up,” but I would say all of them are making very positive contributions. And the list does not include a bunch of future starters (guys like Ike Garcia, Cash Dillon, John Henry Dailey, etc).

    – Smith Snowden
    – Nate Ritchie
    – Tao Johnson (Utah-north lol)
    – Karene Reid

I asked a player on the team about Huard. He responded that he is 100% sure Utah has the best scout team quarterback in the country.

Kash is a strong, athletic kid with a great frame. He’ll put on the weight and be a contributor in a year or two. He could if not for current experienced depth. Akana is freaky strong and fast. Has been a little light and hindered by injuries. Now he’s up to a good weight and healthy. If that continues he could make a nice impact this year and sig…[Read more]

  • BSC8 replied to the topic TE WR Preview in the forum Football 3 months, 2 weeks ago

Spencer Clegg is a stud. He moved from linebacker to tight end during spring and is probably viewed as physical blocker that can still run routes and catch the ball if needed. He’s a walk on from the 2022 class that is trying to work his way onto the field. You’re mixing him up with his brother that returns from a mission this fall (will miss thi…[Read more]
