      A few thoughts:
      – BYU fans were as surprised about the football team as everyone else was. We were bad our first in the Big 12. We expected more of the same. So I don’t think you’re seeing arrogance there as much as elated shock.
      – On basketball – We expected to be good, BUT even the most hardened Ute has to admit that hammering Kansas, winning @Arizona, @Iowa State and then beating them again in the tourney wasn’t on the radar. I expect Houston to win today by 8-12.
      – Overall I do think BYU fans are pleased/surprised that Utah isn’t farther ahead after 12 years in a P5 when BYU was languishing in the wilderness. It’s nice to be on equal footing again.
      – NIL – I get the annoyance with BYU over the NIL stuff. BUT…keep in mind when every UTah player got a truck a few years ago there was a lot of gloating about how far BYU was behind from the Utah fans in my life. Now that it’s flipped…I’m sure the BYU fans in your lives are equally annoying.

He’s a dufus. He knows BYU and Utah fans will click so that’s all he talks about. He’s not stoking the fire with Tech or Baylor. Stop clicking and listening.

My gosh. You’re taking all our favorite guys.

Micah Simon’s best highlight as a Cougar v Tennessee.

Ute fans with PAC 12 tattoos and car wraps 😉

There is a guy in my area in my neighborhood in Herriman with a Dodge Charger wrapped in a Ute logo and a massive PAC 12 logo. I always chuckle

It is weird to me that your attendance is so low. It’s not like you’ve been awful (like BYU in the late 90s when we had multiple seasons under 10 wins). It does feel like you need one amazing season to turn it around.

We filled the Marriott Center for 12 years in the WCC, spare me that argument.

And as far as NIL…your QB1 this year made more than any single BYU athlete has or does.

I agree. There’s a level of physicality in the Big 12 that simply isn’t allowed in the NBA. It’ll be interesting.

Well that’s a giant question regarding the Church and their operations at-large. There’s probably a lot of things the Church spends money on that Jesus wouldn’t.

But, I would say…Jesus isn’t paying AJ Dybantsa. Boosters are.

You beat us last year. I was at Huntsman for that game.

BTW, Pres Randall came around and shook every BYU fan’s hand he could find. Good gesture.

I’m with you on the overall take about NIL. It’s ruining/changing college sports. But again, Ute fans loved it when Ken Garff showed up with new Dodge Rams.

And I will say, it is a bit disorienting for BYU fans who are used to our AD being SO cheap–like famously cheap–to suddenly have endless resources (and btw it isn’t just Ryan, it’s several uber-wealthy families that are suddenly hyper-engaged).

We’ve just been at such a disadvantage to Utah for a decade + (not to mention the Olympic updates to RES), that it does feel good to be on equal footing again.

Regarding basketball for you all…I wish I had words of encouragement, but…I do not. Bill Self said he thought the conference champion would have 5-7 losses in conference. That’s wild.
