Found an article that went deep on Clifford. Mentions that their LT, a potential high first round draft pick, went out midway through the season and the LG went out too and the blocking wasn’t as good in the second half of the season.
Penn St will also…[Read more]

I got a good laugh out of number 3 (mocking the USC towel guys) during the game.

He just hasn’t looked like his leg is at full strength lately. Really a bummer as he was really fun to watch play when 100%.

Calgradutedad replied to the topic Concerns in the forum Football 1 year, 11 months ago
USC’s turnover margin this year is crazy. They are plus 23. Next best is Duke +14. Need to somehow make them negative in this game. They’ve only lost one fumble and had three passes picked. It would help if the crowd was Utah majority and similar to a road game as USC only won at Arizona by 8 and at OSU by 3. They avoided Washington and…[Read more]

Calgradutedad replied to the topic Pac12 opponent strength in the forum Football 2 years ago
Let’s talk schedules. If you consider there to be big 4 teams the records in head to head are:
USC 1-1 (road loss/win at UCLA)
UCLA 1-2 (one road loss;no road wins;home loss to USC)
UTAH 1-2 (two road losses;no road wins)
Oregon 2-0 (no road games)Oregon had a cushier schedule compared to the others. USC got to avoid Oregon since Cal/Stanford…[Read more]

Calgradutedad replied to the topic Why is David Shawn’s seat NOT hot? in the forum Football 2 years ago
Stanford loses players to the portal more then they gain. Don’t think his seat is white hot since they beat Notre Dame this year but it’s getting a little warmer every year. With all of the changes going on in football now such as the LA schools leaving the PAC and the pending tv contract/expansion it might be best to punt a change in coaching…[Read more]

They’re so annoying-good riddance.
I was out in my yard about six years on a Saturday morning around 7 years ago and I was wondering why I could hear a band playing. As I drove by the local high school soon after I saw that the USC band was practicing. I live about 3/4
Of a mile uphill from the school so the noise carries up a lot of the t…[Read more] -
Calgradutedad replied to the topic Not sure what grief stage this is, but strangely, I feel liberated. Anyone else? in the forum Football 2 years, 1 month ago
I was thinking a bit last week about this. I didn’t feel like they were a playoff team. Since they went to the Rose Bowl last year I got that off my bucket list. I got to see my son play in the band at the game and march in the parade. I am coming to the game this week so I was hoping they would win and have college gameday here but it’s not…[Read more]

Calgradutedad replied to the topic Who would your team be if your options were all SEC and B1G teams? in the forum Football 2 years, 2 months ago
If the football world becomes more of an oligarchy due to these conferences I still won’t be rooting for them. I may even start watching lesser conferences more. Georgia’s practically a pro team right now but their games are going to be boring blowouts until they face Alabama or are in the playoff. I’d rather watch a competitive game between…[Read more]

Positive for my wife and I a couple of days ago. So far mostly just a bad cold for me. Probably picked up at one of those la restaurants where we ate inside.

This is just so faulty. I’d much rather take my chances in an outdoor or large indoor setting than in an small indoor setting. I went to Metallica twice last weekend in San Francisco and didn’t catch covid. My brother caught it from hanging out with a friend of his in his garage. And of the multiple people with cases
I know of this week non…[Read more] -
Calgradutedad replied to the topic Rose Parade tickets in the forum Football 2 years, 11 months ago
I just think it depends how much of the parade you want to see and where you are in the parade route. The parade is supposed to start at 8 and goes for around two hours but some areas on the route won’t see end of the parade until 11 or 12. We have tickets on S Orange Grove Blvd which is about 1.5 mile walk from the Rose Bowl. I don’t think…[Read more]

Calgradutedad replied to the topic If you're on the fence about the Rose Bowl consider these things. in the forum Football 2 years, 11 months ago
You totally nailed it. Cal fan since birth. Utah fan since sending my son to college there and we go to a couple of games a year to see him in the band. One side of my grandparents graduated from Utah in the 1930s. It’s nice to be able to attend one of the last ones that matter. With a 12 or 16 game playoff there likely won’t be a pac 12 vs…[Read more]

I’ve found this thread from Wisconsin fans on the Rose Bowl to be helpful for the parade and other things. We’ve bought tickets to see the parade and we plan on parking at the stadium early and walking to the parade. If our son wasn’t in the Utah band I would probably skip the parade because it does make for such a long…[Read more]

When Cal had Aaron Rodgers and Marshawn Lynch they were in position to go to the Rose Bowl until Mack Brown whined and got some voters to change their ballots the final week and Texas moved ahead. The Cal team was extremely disappointed and the performance in the Holiday Bowl where they got beat handily showed it. The only loss Cal had that year…[Read more]

I rewatched the first half of the game two weeks ago. I went through Oregon’s roster and looked at the injury list. I also looked at the box score from the game two years ago which doesn’t look as bad after seeing the missed fourth down conversions and the Blackmon injury.
I will say that the 38-7 score is a little misleading. That was a…[Read more]
