Either way. I remember waiting for the shuttle to far away parking lots in the cold or hard to find tickets below the concourse. Even years parking deep in Ft Douglas or lines for the restrooms. After Majerus we moved up 20something rows and there is reasonable parking. The coach’s show would end before you could get out of the U. The big crowds…[Read more]

You made me laugh talking about inches relative to another man. Myself, I would not confuse him as 6 foot 6.

Charlie replied to the topic Keba Keita MONSTROUS DUNK in the forum Basketball (Men) 1 year ago
I agree. A sixth man that changes the game the way Keba does is quite rare and he is more valuable there than as a starter. Of great value for Keba is to see how the game is getting called before he steps in. Let others play to define the preferences of the ref squad. I like how Smith was bringing him in very early which provides an opportunity…[Read more]

Charlie replied to the topic Can we avoid a mass exodus when Whitt retires? in the forum Football 1 year ago
I don’t expect an issue at all. Whitt has been clear that he wants to stick around the program in an admin capacity when he steps down from HC, and the U agreed. With Scalley to move up that is about as soft a change possible. Scalley’s’ issue, I believe was over dramatized and is now a nonissue. Ludwig may go with Whitt but he likely would be…[Read more]

Thanks. I am still hopping Bentley (has 3 yrs) will work in at TE. The ’23 year class has a some missionaries that will figure in, Clegg and Fonoimoana at the head of the list.

Recruiting is key to winning. Larry took a few years to get an NBA player in. Smith may also get that going, we can only hope. What I do like is seeing the team run plays and make adjustments maybe the best since Majerus. What concerns me is periods where they slip into a funk. Likely this is due to the lack of a top guard. This was also a…[Read more]

It is a thin line from here to bandwagon fan. One option is to simply wait until the Utes are clearly making a run beyond conference champion, jump in late in the season and enjoy the ride in the tournament. Maybe jump in earlier if the previous season assures future success. Another option would be to enjoy the entertainment level that is…[Read more]

I wonder which transfers will enroll for spring semester? Those that do obviously will be more prepared to fill in.

Charlie replied to the topic Struggles on the road in the forum Basketball (Men) 1 year ago
We should have played better, this was one we really needed. Stanford is one team you don’t want to be down a big man. Worster is not a star but is a more important glue piece than many realize. Two starters out down the line means two that may not have played play significant minutes. This match was too close to overcome that issue. Foul shots…[Read more]

As for me personally, there is a big difference between the first and second serious crime. Sometimes an individual can be quite influenced by peer pressure and not resolve an important decision correctly. If someone does their time and resolves to do better, the individual can become even a better person than some that have not ever been in…[Read more]

Charlie replied to the topic A Drubbing of Historical Proportions in the forum Basketball (Men) 1 year ago
My perspective was not so much this year, it was more the claw back I have watched from the mid 60s to mid 70s when UCLA was completely untouchable to last night when we dominated, but for only one night, at the extreme on the other side. When I was in HS UCLA played Houston in the astrodome in what I feel was the biggest BB game in college…[Read more]

Unbelievable tonight. In ’78 I was in grad school at the UofA and watched my school beat UCLA in Tucson. At the time never expected to see my school beat UCLA, ever. Sitting in the student section in the McKale Center I was in awe. Almost 50 years later I was sitting in the Hunty watching my school go up 50 on UCLA. UCLA is not a good team this…[Read more]

The recent changes so far have been stressful. The two big changes next year are still unknowns but very likely to be pleasant for Utah. The expanded playoffs and the move to an easier conference just may make for a best year yet. Utah has a chance to win the Big 12 and if not also have a good chance to push the Big 12 runner up into the playoffs.…[Read more]

I also follow UofA. They overachieved this last year and that was great. I am not there yet that they have the ball rolling near as well as Utah. UofA will do well in the Big 12 but they are not at the point at all to expect to win at Utah. We will benefit from their rise to help us in ranking.
