  • I like what this does for ’25. Maybe he can get an awesome Cali receiver to join him. He is good enough to get an offer from Georgia and has another year of HS to improve. Along with Wilson this helps WRs look at Utah.

I agree, I feel zero kinsmanship with Oregon and it becomes negative with Dan.

  • I wonder if the Pac schools going to the B1G will do any better than Nebraska? Going in I would have to say Nebraska had a better history of winning consistently then the Pac schools. UCLA will likely disappear quickly, the other three will be in and out of the rankings, occasionally have a surprise win, but may likely have a ceiling in the…[Read more]

  • Exactly. Just because Whitt doesn’t give you his understanding about specific things he considers important and speaks in general terms does not mean he can’t see them. He is not going to say he will chip with a TE, pickup with the RB, roll out right etc. He will just move you on to the next question, not because he doesn’t know anything but…[Read more]

The salient thing that matters in our current reality is this game with Arizona. This is the last opportunity in the regular season to beat a good ranked team. The opportunity to keep our trend arrow pointing steeply up. The post earlier that noted that Utah is ranked #7 in number of teams ranked weekly in the CFP since inception is important.…[Read more]

That assumes he needs to work with someone to hire them. There are other ways to develop relationships. He won’t be surprised, I expect Whitt will work with him in a positive way. I also think he will have his own ideas about what he wants from an offense with plenty of experience opposing different schemes.

  • Of course they are a 10 point favorite. Actually, if we did win it is a greater upset than that.

  • Charlie replied to the topic Cry on? in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago

Myself, I don’t think this is a mental health issue. Of course men can cry in public for a human tragedy, a death, something of significance in the big picture. There are also many things men are expected to endure without crying, like losing a sports game, cat stuck up a tree, someone forgetting their birthday. All day long I would support so…[Read more]

  • In search of something to talk about which is strange during football season. While speculating, I suppose they may not be too pleased about several other possible outcomes. I expect that NIL donors will come and go every year.

Keep in mind, much like last year we don’t need to find a way to first place. Let a front runner go and move into second. Anything can happen in Vegas.

  • Relax, Oregon and Washington have most often had problems playing road games in Arizona, as have we. ASU will not be the same team as last week in SLC.

Agree, come in from Estes Park, it is less than an hour. Come thru the park assuming you drive over.

I was wondering the same thing but didn’t want to offend anyone. With our best basketball player and one of the QBs being Brandon it may become a thing but the NASCAR cheer is fading away. I heard it a couple of times at BB last year and people just laughed.

  • Charlie replied to the topic Rose update in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago

At this point I don’t expect much to be said as QBs and coaches begin to look at their options. As options become clear choices will be made and then statements. I expect coaches will be the last to finish as they will always be open to improving the room. Enjoy the next 5 games, have some hope for a 6th, and winter will then provide a cast of…[Read more]

Happy to see the Colorado game earlier in the calendar away from Thanksgiving and nice to drive up over and thru the park to get there.

  • Goodness, I missed the first game, an expedition game with Westminster. Anyone go with something to tell us?

  • Of three possible opponents that are currently ranked, we only play OSU. Unless someone gets better we may only play a single ranked opponent? Arizona is the best chance for a second, maybe Colo? Hope this does not mean we are back to needing to be undefeated to be noticed.

  • Well, it looks like 9 conference games per year, we start with 5 road games. Sadly, all the other schools get a break from playing the Y but we don’t. We play only two Texas schools out of 4 per year. These have more value than playing the Y. Nice to see that we have only 2 east coast road games in 4 years. CU is 3 of 4 years with 2 on the road.…[Read more]

As I watched Oregon attack us it felt like they started with a script. So many times Nix threw quickly to a spot without a read. I think they studied our DB tendencies to identify quick open spots and simply expected them to be there. A negative of man coverage is in the initial seconds the DB defends both long and short routes leaving a loose…[Read more]

Whitt’s comments date back to Ron McBride, I believe. I have heard Ron McBride walk thru this model: When anything goes wrong, it starts first with the HC. If the HC has not discussed the specific risk and the specific solution with the assistant coaches it stops there and the HC owns the problem. If he has previously discussed it with the…[Read more]
