  • The couple of times I have been reminded of the loss to the Y by their fans, I agree that I know well about the loss. I tell them it was awful to lose two straight to two mid majors but it was sweet to bounce back from that very low point to go to the Rose Bowl. End with asking them to try to imagine how awesome it is to play on New Years Day.…[Read more]

  • Actually, for the most part, I am ok with all Pac teams. All schools have the random asshats, Utah included. Other than the rivalries like UA/ASU or UCLA/USC, most all schools experience much the same thing as they travel. I have been lucky in that the majority of other team fans have not upset me when I visit. But you do need to get use to…[Read more]

  • All of the spots we will always need good talent throughout the 2 deep roster. We can have a stud make a difference at most any position. But I feel the real difference makers are really effective when they come from a few spots. On offense, QB and RB. On defense, DE and CB. Our offense is set in that we have very likely all league players at…[Read more]

Actually I feel that room is very well positioned to be compared to the best. We start with one of the few returning P5 all conference QBs. As a number 2 Barnes was capable of a late drive to tie the game against a top opponent. As a change of pace wildcat QB, I think Jackson holds as much promise as a similar backup in other top programs. As a…[Read more]

  • I don’t believe I share your panic. I actually look forward to when Smith has pieces that are as good as the other Pac teams. I wish we could have held on to a few more players from ’21 but Smith started with very little. The Jazz owner bought our first great recruit, now Smith needs to find more pieces. What I did like this year was the…[Read more]

  • Realize that the next up leadership group has many of the same players and most of next year’s team has been watching Lloyd and Covey. Lloyd credits the LBs before him for giving him the example, particularly the film study, that he repeated. I don’t expect that the leadership that has been developing for years will disappear.

  • Maybe they will try him at WR. To understand why you may need to ask his mom.

  • Where do I apply to safely dispose of the Russian vodka?

  • Long ago my dad had student apartments in Provo. Some guys move out but left 3 sides of a three hole outhouse in the living room. They did steal a sign from the Admin building and hang it over the shitter. It said ‘This Stall Reserved for General Authorities Only’. I did think it was funny before I had to haul it off. Must be a thing there.

Someone should give him a try at WR.

  • Of course a Stanford degree is awesome. However, it means more to the older generation than the younger generation. The greatest value is right out of school when education is primary and experience is minor. Over time, where you went to school becomes minor compared to experience. And it varies by field of work. Lawyers and finance folks…[Read more]

  • Cam is very good when you consider he is still a couple of games short of a full first year. Currently, he is running with the best group of QBs without putting an order to the group. However, he is one of the those that you should expect his ceiling is still higher. In a second year after an offseason, you can expect that a great QB works hard…[Read more]

  • I agree. Smith has clearly done more with much less. The team in a massive losing streak has better chemistry then recent teams in good runs. They play better defense than teams since Rick was here. The offense bogs down less than has been the case for years. I can see the plays they are trying to run. As he gains equal talent to the other…[Read more]

  • I don’t know anything about it… however, it is extremely hard to compete with the first placed ACC team for a player. Then add in a new coaching staff that everyone is watching to see what we have. Hard to say we missed our chance.

  • Exactly what we were talking about when Tom commented. $5 is a good start for above the concourse, you will get another $10 when they buy popcorn and a drink. The value to the team and progress for the program would be great. And I agree even though it will make my parking a nightmare. Reevaluate for small increases after a couple of sold out years.

  • I believe he had that Chandler kid from Farmington, which was awesome, but the owner of the Jazz paid him to go to TDS. It may take some time, but I am all in with Smith. He only has a few pieces but I enjoy watching his team play. Every team that has come to the Hunty get quite frustrated by our defense.

  • Well, how many times is the final QB1 known at the beginning of the season? Rising has an arrow pointing up as nearly vertical as anyone. Coming off a major injury, not playing a full season, he ended the season playing maybe better than almost anyone 10 full games into a career. He makes something out of nothing as well as the best of them.…[Read more]

TE will continue to be a strength. We are yet to see Yassmin and Barton, if he plays TE, would be awesome. Kendall from the portal may be very helpful, and there are young guys.

247 does not show anyone enrolled, I wonder what new guys will be here in spring practice. There are a few that I want to see where they land.

  • Charlie replied to the topic Formation Rules in the forum Football 2 years, 11 months ago

There always is 5 eligible receivers on every play (6 if the QB throws a backward pass). You are free to put anyone you want in those positions. Any eligible receiver can get involved in blocking for a run but what makes TEs unique is they are big enough to block down after down but also a threat to catch a pass. The TE becomes even more of a…[Read more]

  • For the most part we only want 1 year players that have a very good shot at starting, otherwise use the players in the program. Portal players with multiple of years to play can be developed. Always of interest would be deep threat WRs or good CBs. The secondary can always use depth. But whatever spots left available will be used on someone,…[Read more]
