  • I am hoping Sewell and Kendal take the opportunity to return and be the featured LBer and TE. I think they progress much further in that roll then trying to make it in the NFL. If the LBer room is as strong as expected maybe we see a lot more 4,3 in obvious run downs or maybe rotation between pass and run downs. The defense may want to adjust…[Read more]

Yes need to go to Florida. The Florida culture is great for me, although the Keys that are the best part of Florida are a long way from Gainesville. Maybe I gota try the panhandle.

Good to know the depth for CB and Safety is all good. Kyle always talked about how hard it was to find great CBs and Edge rushers, I can’t imagine he would ever pass up a great opportunity there. I am hoping that we have one of the top 3 TEs stay to help the ‘process’ wash over to the new guys. We have a lot of young LBs with expectations, I…[Read more]

What is the greatest need for this class? Are we in need of more CBs or Safeties?

  • Maybe early declaration helps Utah. Oddly, much of bowl prep has been allocated to getting 2s and 3s ready for next year. For those players it is a second spring practice. I expect they get very motivated knowing the pecking order of some positions is changing. But the early signing date tomorrow also benefits when ‘open positions’ can be…[Read more]

We have seen players go to early that would have benefited from another year in school. For the most part, odds are much better with multiple good years rather than one. Bolles was an exception, Bam will have to make a single year work. First team all Pac will get a chance to prove themselves, second team has reduced odds, honorable mention is…[Read more]

  • Not just Page, on the day after the Fiesta Bowl there was not a restroom without a long line or fast food available up highway 89 clear to Spanish Fork and gas stations had lines out and down the highway. The small businesses had zero idea what was happening to them.

  • White shirt, name badge and bicycle helmet? No, that is someone else. I think red or white doesn’t mean anything at this game. Just wear something with Utah logos and lettering and don’t take it off at the beach.

  • Parade, tailgate, then game. Trying to squeeze everything into the day. I figured I needed to be on the north side of the parade, then going to the Parsons parking lot to catch the shuttle to the tailgate. Parking and driving will be an adventure.

  • Charlie replied to the topic Verbal Commits in the forum Football 3 years, 1 month ago

Without knowing for sure, I believe all schools have several decommits every year. I expect often athletes have schools lose interest over time just like athletes lose interest in schools. Athletes and schools will move on if substantially better options appear. Most all schools save spots or create spots to take advantage of fallout from…[Read more]

  • Will he has TDs as a FB and as a TE, so he can run and catch. I think Utah is looking for a TE that can do that and block well. Maybe the balanced guy is not noted as high as the guy that is great at receiving. With the success Utah has had with TEs this year I would expect that Utah is a great destination for another TE. I also think Yassmin…[Read more]

Oddly, a healthy running game is exactly what the Bills need. If they could figure out how to integrate a run game into their offense, a small miracle, he could help them.

  • Most schools play 2 CBs Utah mostly plays 3, 50% more playing time for CBs.
Utah mostly plays man coverage, better prep for the NFL.
Utah DB coaching is very good
    Utah’s program is very stable
OSU is very deep and has many 2s that could start elsewhere. If you are a CB leaving because there are 4* 2s, Utah is about as good a place to go as can be found.

  • Gabe needs to determine what his chances are if he joins maybe the strongest LBer room in the conference. As for us I think our needs are WR and DB. I would love to see a game ready WR come in thru the portal. Currently, I would also think Utah would be a top 5 destination for a TE.

  • The gray navy ship helmets were much to good to be used only once.

  • I noticed when we entered the Pac most all teams were very welcoming. The exceptions I noticed was Washington was the one that was least welcoming and pushed the little brother thing. ASU was just ASU and treated us like they do everyone. Colo was the FNG along with us so there was natural competition to blend in. All the Cali schools have to…[Read more]

He has the skills to be a return specialist in the NFL, next he will test his durability to determine how long he is in the NFL. When all of that is done, he wants to get involved in coaching. I expect he will return to Utah as a GA looking/waiting for an opening on the staff. I believe he will become an awesome coach.

  • Charlie replied to the topic Rudest College Sports Fans in the forum Misc 3 years, 1 month ago

I have had lots of interactions with other fans at RES, visited most MWC and Pac venues, attended most bowl games, both football and basketball. With one exception 95+% of all other fans are very friendly if we are, which is not at all worse than how our fans treat others. The exception is Y fans. Their athletes act like every penalty or foul…[Read more]

Cole also had an offer from Stanford so I can only guess he didn’t feel the education from the U was very far off from Duke and Stanford. Others viewed him as a LBer we were happy to play him at safety. He has taken advantage of openings that have come up in the safety room. I am hoping he is with us long enough to pair him with Ritchie and…[Read more]

Is this step different than asking for the NFL evaluation? I was assuming several will go thru the process of evaluation then make a decision. Is there a date to then forgo the NFL draft? Could there also be NIL situations that would pay key players significantly to stay another year allowing athletes to provide for family? I would also expect…[Read more]
