I know that from a coach’s perspective, in the second half of the season, the best measure of a team is their last 3 or 4 games. They know that teams fade and come on often in a way that defies the overall record. Injuries figure in, key players have lights switch on, momentum from a big or key game can explode. What happened in September was…[Read more]

I agree, the Az game is not in doubt. We should work on Rising’s passing game with some running mixed in. Second half work on Jackson’s passing game. Costelli can even take a drive and keep his redshirt year. We can still be very determined with energy with a game plan that maximizes our development for two games with Oregon and a bowl…[Read more]

I agree, Utah first. Utah needs to win each next game and go from there. With Utah and Oregon likely playing twice in 13 days I expect it will be difficult for either to win twice. Betting money may likely favor the loser of the first game. Lets look for payback for 2019.

Focus on the superior academia prowess at UDub caused Jimmy to loose focus on the basics of acceptable behavior. He is now helping his administration find and exit ramp for what has become a disappointment.

Oregon needs to hold up their part and get a win against WSU. Next, much of the team along with the coaches remember the CCG with Oregon in 2019. With that and all it means for this year, Oregon is going to get our best shot. Payback is coming.

I think this is a nothing burger. Yes it is a bad look to loose composure to tell someone not to loose composure. When I saw it I assumed he was reacting to something he had been saying all week. He brushed a football player with a helmet with a piece of plastic paper and gave him a push in what I assumed was a message to the whole team. I…[Read more]

We had a number of issues with OSU but 2 stand out to me. We were leading in the game when Lloyd went out, next we were quite awkward in the LBer play after. We showed we did not have a good plan for Lloyd’s presence which is understandable since he is the best defender in the league. The second was the breakdown on special teams. The offense…[Read more]

No worries, the very best teams look to cleanup anything subpar. All of those things, I expect, have improvement objectives this week. All need refinement before the 20th.

We don’t have to have 5 losses. A split with Oregon and taking the other 3 is doable.

If Utah beats Stanford, Arizona and Colorado, they will be ranked. Any losses to a top 10 team will not hurt a ranking in the 20s. It would then be unlikely another Pac team will pass us in rankings, if it was to happen it would be a north team winning out while beating Oregon. The runner up in the CCG can easily be passed over by Oregon in…[Read more]

Good review. Oregon will likely win the north with still another loss to go. Let it be Utah. It gets crazy if they lose another. Others in the north are very unlikely to win out. In the south Utah is almost a given. ASU can’t win out and Utah does not have more than one more loss possible. I am hoping that Utah does not back into the south…[Read more]

I agree, Oregon is not our concern. Utah simply takes our games one at a time, trying to win each, and accept the option offered to us in the post season. Concern for how to get other Pac teams to the post season is not at all our concern. If Utah is offered the Rose Bowl, it matters little to me what circumstances lead to that. Currently the…[Read more]

Jimmy Lake, a proud graduate of Eastern Washington, throwing shade on Oregon related to acedemic excellence. I guess he has his list of top acedemics.

There is not a circumstance where it is best for Utah to lose a game.

Some fans are focused on their own team and a desire to win it all and fail to process how difficult football success is, how hard it is to remain in the race deep into the season, season after season. We are now in a league, each team with resources we could only imagine a decade ago, that is very competitive. Even blue bloods like USC,…[Read more]

Any guesses as to how Lloyd is replaced in the first half? I favor a LBer over a Safety or NB, but I am not sure which of the options are most game ready. I think if DTR starts Sewall needs to play him and get 2 LBs focused on the run. I can only imagine Kelly is in a hurry to exploit the absense of Lloyd in the first half, so it will be…[Read more]
