Incidents like this may discourage coaches and teachers to have zero conversation about any subject outside their hired roll. I don’t know what the other issues are however; this single issue should not result in anything other than some offline advice to improve sensitivity. The older generation is very accustomed to graphic metaphors to e…[Read more]

Charlie replied to the topic We can see what happened to LSU's defense when they lost 9 starters in the forum Football 4 years, 3 months ago
Utah will have a DL rotation of 7 or 8, without a star but with little drop-off. I don’t think they will be easy to run on and I think there will be adequate pass rush. The defense will not make everyone talk but they may hold leads generated by the offense. Should not get worked.

Gustin and Sewell would have been huge difference makers. Masina would have been my favorite to watch as a ute if his decisions would have been different. In HS, he could play any position on the field. I remember when on two consecutive plays he sacked the QB from the DL then returned the following punt 50 yards well past the line of…[Read more]

5 and 1 in the regular season. The ASU game will be the most difficult. Good news, I don’t see anyone in the south going undefeated. The tie breaker criteria will most likely determine who goes to the CCG.
The offense will be fine. Covey’s return and another year for all the WRs will be big. While other teams try to figure out our new QB…[Read more]

Charlie replied to the topic What we currently know about the schedule in the forum Football 4 years, 4 months ago
Why was it important to restart after the election? It is odd that no one owned up to the scheduling decisions. It was always ‘medicals officials say’, ‘local administrators say’, etc. Then the governor told us the state never said don’t play. Who kept the Cali schools from working out? It was a very big decision and no one can stand up and…[Read more]

It is an adventure to predict where recruits will land without them playing their senior season. Good size and with another year of HS football he very well could have move up higher.

Charlie replied to the topic US election: Trump won't commit to peaceful transfer of power in the forum Politics 4 years, 4 months ago
Trump should simply reply, of course I accept the results of a fair election and expect that we will have just that. To commit to accept the election before knowing anything about possible problems seems odd. I think we make more of this than we should. I expect that if there are question there is a possibility of either side requesting some…[Read more]

The problem with candidates for federal government is we are limited to the few that have incredible desire for these positions. It is desire not qualifications. Very few can do anything more than talk a line and make a promise but we hope they can see a solution for our most difficult issues. No one works their way up with success with similar…[Read more]

The 97% of scientist agree climate change is human caused – is an interesting story. A university back east sent out a survey that 30 or 40% responded to. But the critical criterion to be retained in the survey was checking the box that indicated that you consider yourself to be a climate expert. You might expect that these folks were m…[Read more]

In the short term picture, the sea level has been rising for the last 100 years. In the longer term picture, the sea level has been raising for the last 20,000 year cycle. In Ireland, study of the shoreline shows over all time than can be studied by science, the sea level has been 200 feet higher and 200 feet lower than the current level. What…[Read more]

Charlie replied to the topic Pac 12 Football in the forum Football 4 years, 4 months ago
So again the question, the Cali and Oregon administrators can chose to not allow football in those two states, but would they also not allow Pac 12 schools in other states to go about some fashion of a season on their own? Why do they need to make a hurtful choice for other schools? That would be 5 league games or better yet some home and home match ups.

Charlie replied to the topic May be set for Oct. 17 in the forum Misc 4 years, 4 months ago
Larry is making it easy for Cali administrators. He does not want to make a decision and uses the excuse that Oregon and Cali don’t allow practice. The administrators can use the excuse that the league is not playing anyway. Do nothing excuse all the way around. The conference is not a Cali or Oregon league, it is bigger. The conference s…[Read more]

Pac 12 does not have any great insight on coronavirus. High schools and ute conference little league has found a way thru that. What the Pac 12 does have is a troublesome player boycott threat and several liberal universities and guvnors that do not want things to get better until after the election. After many decades in the stadium, I have to say the rainy nights are the worst. Snow is much easier to deal with. I will take a game in ski clothes any day over a soak to the bone rain night.
