Anyone know if Larsson and Jantunen have made it to campus and are practicing with the team?

Trump should simply reply, of course I accept the results of a fair election and expect that we will have just that. To commit to accept the election before knowing anything about possible problems seems odd. I think we make more of this than we should. I expect that if there are question there is a possibility of either side requesting some…[Read more]

The problem with candidates for federal government is we are limited to the few that have incredible desire for these positions. It is desire not qualifications. Very few can do anything more than talk a line and make a promise but we hope they can see a solution for our most difficult issues. No one works their way up with success with similar…[Read more]

The 97% of scientist agree climate change is human caused – is an interesting story. A university back east sent out a survey that 30 or 40% responded to. But the critical criterion to be retained in the survey was checking the box that indicated that you consider yourself to be a climate expert. You might expect that these folks were m…[Read more]

In the short term picture, the sea level has been rising for the last 100 years. In the longer term picture, the sea level has been raising for the last 20,000 year cycle. In Ireland, study of the shoreline shows over all time than can be studied by science, the sea level has been 200 feet higher and 200 feet lower than the current level. What…[Read more]

So again the question, the Cali and Oregon administrators can chose to not allow football in those two states, but would they also not allow Pac 12 schools in other states to go about some fashion of a season on their own? Why do they need to make a hurtful choice for other schools? That would be 5 league games or better yet some home and home match ups.

Larry is making it easy for Cali administrators. He does not want to make a decision and uses the excuse that Oregon and Cali don’t allow practice. The administrators can use the excuse that the league is not playing anyway. Do nothing excuse all the way around. The conference is not a Cali or Oregon league, it is bigger. The conference s…[Read more]

Pac 12 does not have any great insight on coronavirus. High schools and ute conference little league has found a way thru that. What the Pac 12 does have is a troublesome player boycott threat and several liberal universities and guvnors that do not want things to get better until after the election. These are the two issues that need to be…[Read more]

After many decades in the stadium, I have to say the rainy nights are the worst. Snow is much easier to deal with. I will take a game in ski clothes any day over a soak to the bone rain night.

KSL reported that as students check into the dorms to return to school they are tested for covid. Of the 2,600 tests that came back Friday, 3 from the U and 2 from Westminster tested positive. Another 1,000 results will come in Monday. Maybe a good thing they are checking into school to identify a few asymptomatic cases. They will quarantine…[Read more]

Interesting article that can be related to opening or closing colleges. The material comes from a fellow Pac 12, California school. Without saying they should be open, one can look at the possible positive outcomes of opening.

We started the summer feeling sorry for the Y and wondering just who will they play. Now we are envious of their chance to play football when only some teams will be doing so. It does make sense that Army and Navy keep going even with the future uncertain. The training at the service academies is to keep going not to look for reasons to call it…[Read more]

Odd question. Is Utah or other schools free to schedule non-conference games with any team that will field a team? Does the Pac control the scheduling of these games? Is it possible to put together a significant schedule that may even include two conference teams playing a non-congerence game? Would the Pac allow it?

It will be interesting how Ludwig uses his new QB in combination with inside receivers. Covey and Dixon can stay inside, cross or cut outside. Combined with two very good TEs there can be real pressure on the inside where most teams do not excel at coverage. On top of that, all four can cross pre-snap, 3 can run sweeps very well. We can create…[Read more]

Interesting that the league decided to do away with the rivals games the last week. For Utah, they finish up with the southern division runner up, and then a rematch of the CCG. For Oregon, they finish up with Stanford the last placed team in the north then the rematch. Utah goes from easiest to most difficult, Oregon has a more balanced…[Read more]

Charlie replied to the topic So how is this going to work… in the forum Football 4 years, 11 months ago
I am not opposed to on-line. To have football, I assume students beyond athletes need to be on campus. Hopefully, we can manage our lives on campus or at work as well as we would out of school or out of work. I assume young people will date much the same in or out of school. The incremental difference college adds for infection, I hope, can…[Read more]

I agree there is a lot of concern. Can we assume students without college will not gather anywhere, get together or see each other? Will life without college have much less interaction? I would hope we don’t simply suffer about the same but without being productive.
Sadly, Europe will go back to school before we do. The underling reason…[Read more]
