Not that I would rather see field goals instead of touchdowns, but it’s got to be pretty discouraging from a defensive standpoint to stop Utah’s offense and then see repeated 3 point scores from 40 to 50 yards out, pushing the lead closer and closer to being out of reach.

Well when you have a freshman QB who has had less than stellar results on the road, they may have felt they didn’t have a choice and were going to try and rely on special teams, defense, and 4 and 5 star tallent to try and pull out a win. More throws against an unexpected cover 2 would probably have resulted in more take aways for Utah.

Watching Colorado and ASU, both Montez and Wilkins have the ability to accurately throw to a spot in the second level and for the home run play down the field. I can’t muster enough emotion to care anymore. Watching the offense implode every game with false starts, delay of game (or wasted timeouts to not get a delay of game), holding penalties etc. and then hoping that the defense can somehow bail us out is not a strategy to win. Interesting press conference. Whitt gave the defense the credit they deserved and refused to bag on the offense stating that he has confidence in the offense and the players.
