Ha ha. Between Scott Frost and Rich Rod…what’s next? We hire Urban? lololololololololololol.

Utah replied to the topic Did Bronco want Beck? in the forum Football 1 week, 4 days ago
Honestly…I think this is more a Scalley hire than a Whitt hire. And that is a good thing. Whitt has always gone for a big name at OC, someone, in Whitt’s mind, to take care of the offense while he takes care of the defense.
Dennis Erickson, Norm Chow, Christensen was a hot name from Missouri, Troy Taylor and his iPhone offense.
Beck is a…[Read more]

I’d love to have Ryan Browne. Two QB’s who have some experience, who fit the system, fighting for the job.

It’s everywhere. Not just college sports. Look at the buildings being built by the LDS corp. Hundreds of billions of dollars they’ve hoarded. Look at the president (old and new) and the politicians around them and the money they’ve amassed.
Look at how huge these corps have gotten: Amazon, Walmart, Disney, etc.
This is our world now, and until…[Read more]

This is something that really, really, really bothers me and we’ve seen it a lot the last few weeks with Whittingham. The whole “He has done so much that he should be able to retire/leave when he wants to!” argument.
I disagree completely. Why are fans the only people asked to be loyal to sports teams? Why is it, “I was born a Philadelphia fan,…[Read more]

BYU is the mormon church’s biggest expense. If you think tithing doesn’t indirectly fund BYU…again…believe what you want.

I’ll respond point by point:
– I don’t doubt this. BYU has a shit ton of money. So do their alum. If Utah can get big bucks from donors, I fully believe BYU can…especially when BYU has “other” reasons to give money, such as “BYU being a good vehicle to advertise mormonism.”

Utah replied to the topic Who is going to run the ball for us next year? in the forum Football 1 week, 6 days ago
With Ganther at the helm, we will bring in a bunch of guys who are 160-170 lbs then try to run through the tackles for 1-2 yard gains and that will disrupt the rest of the offense so much that unless our QB can get to 1,000 yards rushing, our offense will look like the 2024 offense.
How Ganther is still here…how we don’t have a RB over…[Read more]

The real joke will be when we run over 60% of the time, Rising is back.
And I’ll say this a thousand times, but I’ll be more blunt this time:
Scalley is Utah’s bitch. He ain’t going anywhere, no matter what Whitt does to him. Because he knows if he leaves, there is a great chance he doesn’t come back.
As for the RB’s…we do need some. If you…[Read more]

I mean…conference championships were installed for the money only.
So…what pays the conference more? CCG with no playoff team or no CCG and a playoff team?
That’s your answer.

Utah replied to the topic Wilson officially to portal in the forum Football 2 weeks, 1 day ago
Honestly…if Beck doesn’t make any changes to the offensive coaching staff, especially at RB coach…
Then I’m not sure Beck has any say in how the offense is run.

Utah replied to the topic Mike Gundy in the forum Football 2 weeks, 3 days ago
I mean…OSU isn’t wrong. College coaches are so overpaid. Why pay someone like Whitt or Gunny, who have never won it all and can’t win a big bowl game, all that money?
Cut their contracts to 3-4 million and take the other half and give it to the players.
I like what Oklahoma State is doing. Utah should do it as well.
We could get Jay Hill…[Read more]

Utah started the topic Recruiting Rankings in the forum Football 2 weeks, 3 days ago
Point #1: Comparing us nationally is silly. The way the leagues have broken off…it’s counterproductive. So, all that matters is being the best Big 12 team.
In the Big 12, high school recruits:
We are ranked #5. TCU, Kansas St, Baylor, Colorado, Utah. BYU is #13.
Transfers: We are dead last because we have no transfers. lol.
Overall: We…[Read more]

Utah replied to the topic New Mexico 2024 Rushing TD’s: 37, Utah: 7 in the forum Football 2 weeks, 3 days ago
I totally agree.
I’m ok with it. I don’t think it really matters too much if Whitt is coming back.
I think it will be just fine. Nothing will change. Beck won’t be amazing but won’t be awful. He will be a Whitt OC. And if we lose because we go up 21-10 at halftime and Whitt handcuffs the OC then Whitt will throw Beck under the bus and fire him…[Read more]

Like many have said, if you took BYU and Bronco off Beck’s resume, we’d be happy.

Jason Beck needs to bring in a new RB coach. Unfortunately, our RB room has gotten worse and worse every year under Ganther.

Utah replied to the topic New Mexico QB Devon Dampier in the forum Football 2 weeks, 3 days ago
If it’s between Dampier, Fifita or Nate Johnson, I’d go this way:
Fifita – First choice. He’s a QB who has actually had success on this level.
Nate Johnson – He’s a QB who has actually had experience at this level.
Dampier – He’s a bargain level Johnson. -
Utah replied to the topic Bronco to Utah State in the forum Football 2 weeks, 3 days ago
I think this is homerun hire for Utah State.
Jay Hill or Bronco would be lifers for that school (or Hill would be a lifer until he got the Utah job).
The MWC or PAC conference are extremely winnable. They will be on the top of the conference for a while now. Great hire for Utah State.
