The problem is not talent. Yes, we don’t have a ton of it, but that isn’t the main problem. Less talented teams have accomplished far more than this group will. So what is the problem? CONFIDENCE. This is 100% the problem. Confidence is everything in basketball. When you think about it, you are trying to throw a ball into a basket that, from the…[Read more]

Big12 ball is much easier to watch than Pac12 ball was. They used to call fouls every time down the floor. Completely ruined the flow of the game, and every game turned into a FT contest halfway through each half.

Are you a child or just mentally challenged? Shouting something on the internet doesn’t make it true. Dawes is NOT our worst FT shooter, not by a long shot. Lovering is worse by a substantial margin. Dawes is a 69% FT shooter, which isn’t good, but it isn’t awful either. As bad as our team is from the line, I’d wager to say he is one of our better…[Read more]

Every day there are dozens of joe shmoes at any local rec center that can hit 8/10 free throws. Shitty free throw shooting is proof of a lack of effort, focus, and conditioning in practice.
When I played HS ball, our coach made us run ladders at the end of practice then he would pick a random player to shoot a free throw. If they missed we had to…[Read more]

we need someone that has a green light to allow the other guys to get open. Without Madsen, even when he is chucking bricks, we would have no real three point threat and our offense would come to a screeching halt.

1. Smith is a better coach than Young, at least he was tonight. He drew up several good plays (one of the coaches did anyway), and the team played stellar defense the entire game. He may be an awful recruiter, but he’s a better in-game coach than KY.
2. Good players:
– Ausar: super timid first half, passed several wide open layups for questionable…[Read more] -

Yeah, I’m not trying to suggest Whitt should have seen the future and canned Ludwig after 3 stellar years in a row. Had Rising and Kuithe left back then, Ludwig probably would have done much better these last two years, but they didn’t, Ludwig was terrible, and he needed to go.
The coaches did the best they could with the info they had, which was…[Read more]

This program was stale and badly needed a refresh. Make no mistake, having Rising, Kuithe, and Ludwig gone is good for this team, and they should have been gone after the last Rose Bowl game. The entire Rose Bowl team was built around two players. When those two players got SERIOUSLY injured, we should have moved on from them and built a new team…[Read more]

Problem on offense and defense is the same tonight. Letting the other team play their game. We are timid on both sides of the ball. Afraid to shoot on offense. Afraid to attack on defense.

guys, he’s played on two teams and has done nothing for either one. I’m supposed to believe the problem has been his offensive coaches and not his own talent?
Not buying it.

I watched very little Utah football last year. What I saw of Nate was a quarterback that was good in one game and bad in all the rest. He didn’t seem nearly as fast in pads as his 100m time indicated he was. Is that because he was used incorrectly? Possibly. HJe didn’t do anything notable for Vandy either. I like the guy, and I’m glad he’s back,…[Read more]

I’m glad he’s back, but is this really a big deal? I’m glad he’s is showing personal growth, but the chances of him contributing meaningfully are small.
Or poo pooing the player or his return, just seems like this warrants very little celebration.

Last year we thought we had an improved stable of QBs over the previous year, and they were equally ineffective. I have hope that the new staff will be able to get more out of this group of QBs, but I refuse to drink the kool aid until we see the on field product against a proven good team. I thought we were in for a great season when Wilson…[Read more]
