Either that or one of two other things. He doesn’t want to give anyone anything to talk about that might distract the team. Or he doesn’t care enough to think about it and is just answering because he has to.

What do we expect him to say though? “yeah, that kid from last year… he sucks just like the rest of the QBs that played last year. The new kid this year might be good, but he’s a scrawny freshman who is waiting on the right guy to die a tragic death so our guy can keep living the dream. In other words, if Cam gets hurt, which we all know he…[Read more]

I think Whitt is just saying what he thinks is best for the team. These statements from him don’t mean anything. I know, I’m stating the obvious.

Yeah, the free throw shooting woes didn’t make sense at all.

Poor free throws, poor rebounding (relative to our size) and poor defense. Those are the three most fundamental parts of basketball. I don’t know how you don’t beat your players over the head with these concepts.
The good thing is, those 3 things are probably the 3 easiest problems to fix in basketball. All you really have to do for better…[Read more]

kinda seems like women’s CBB is becoming what men’s CBB was before they changed the draft rules and messed with other in-game rules as well.

We’ll be okay at linebacker regardless, so I don’t feel so bad in that way… but that really sucks for him as a person.

Lets be real.
If the NIT hadn’t given us home court advantage, we would not have advanced past the first round. We would have been obliterated if we had somehow made the NCAA tournament. This team was dreadful on the road all year.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic This is part of the problem in the forum Basketball (Men) 9 months, 3 weeks ago
Its the NIT, and its college basketball. You don’t need to look any further than that.
So Utah is competing for a chance to be like the 70th best team in CBB. WOOPDEEDOOO!!

I refuse to be excited about our WRs, especially Pittman. We heard he was going to be our best WR last year, but when he played (which was VERY little) he didn’t look anything like our best WR. He promptly got injured (just like almost every other year he’s played college football) and missed the rest of the season.
I’m not predicting anything,…[Read more]

Yeah… that’s like Utah fans whining about their football team’s bowl record though. At least they are playing in “meaningful” bowl games pretty much every year.
I don’t think we’ll ever get to see how successful Craig Smith is with Utah in the tourney. I don’t see how we get there next year, and if we don’t, he is gonzo.
Oh well, at least…[Read more]

I don’t give a flying rat’s ass. That’s how I feel about it. We didn’t get in, the Pac12 performing well doesn’t benefit us in any noticeable way.

My guess is it would help a smidge with recruits that are already interested in coming to Utah. It would help them feel better about that decision. Would it convince a quality player to come to Utah instead of somewhere else? Only if they are stupid.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic OnlyU in the forum Football 9 months, 3 weeks ago
nah… it would definitely be bad for the team, for this year anyway. Here is why: If Wilson passes Rose on the depth chart, Rose leaves. Wilson will have surgery at some point, and will subsequently be out for who knows how long. Then we are left with Luke Bottari as our primary backup. Cam will almost certainly get hurt at some point this year.…[Read more]

right, but there is at least a decent chance that Watson doesn’t ever regain his Texans form, and Jameis Winston hasn’t exactly been great either.
If Huntley is going to prove himself as a starter (not saying he will), this is as good an opportunity as he is going to get.

Seems like a good decision on Huntley’s part. He was never going to be the starter in Baltimore, he has a shot to be the starter over Watson. I was surprised that he only signed for the vet minimum, but I think its a good gamble on his part (assuming there were other options).

Doesn’t seem crazy to me. Clemson, Florida State and Miami are bigger brands (by a lot) than any team in the Big 12. North Carolina and Duke don’t have consistently good/great football teams, but they are big brands as well.
The quality of the football may be worse, but they have a handful of teams that are more well-known than any in the Big12.
