chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Should Utah have given Coach K one more year? in the forum Basketball (Men) 2 weeks, 5 days ago
No no no. Absolutely not. The man was not a good basketball coach. The fact that we may have hired the wrong guy in Smith does not make firing Krstkowi-hack wrong. Do you remember our offenses under Krystowiak? Dribble the air out of the ball, pass around the wing, chuck up a shot at the last second and hope it goes in. It was like watching paint…[Read more]

Way to build that straw man buddy.
You said they had the SAME overall playbook. You also said Ludwig claims to have had 1000 plays or whatever. They will not have the same playbook. They will not have the same offense. Ludwig is gone allegedly because his offense was too difficult to install in today’s transfer portal era. If they had the SAME…[Read more]

A playbook with some of the same plays does not make it the same playbook.

CBB just isn’t nearly as important to me as it once was. I really do not care. I haven’t even watched the national championship game (or much march madness at all) since the last time the Utes were in the tourney.
At this point, I’d trade a single Big12 football championship for that win over Kentucky because that was nearly 30 years ago now, and…[Read more]

I’m currently taking a sports law class. It has been very interesting getting my professor’s take on the whole NIL thing. The NCAA had so many chances to put the fire out before it blew up in their face, but they were too greedy, and not just once. This happened time and time again and their status as untouchable eventually eroded. Those greedy…[Read more]

I wonder why he hasn’t gotten more attention. The dude is HUGE. 6 ft 6 and 240 pounds of muscle! He had 16, that’s SIXTEEN sacks in his most recent football season.
I hate the name Ryker as much as the next guy, but that can’t be the reason he isn’t rated on 247

I’m an Indiana Pacers fan for some reason (Reggie and Rik in NBA Jam were a great duo). I just looked at their box score. They are getting their butts kicked by the Lebron/Luka-less lakers.
Why do I bring this up as a Ute basketball post? Because the Pacers are currently 30/31 AS A TEAM from the free throw line.
SMH, do better Utes. You can do…[Read more]

The problem is not talent. Yes, we don’t have a ton of it, but that isn’t the main problem. Less talented teams have accomplished far more than this group will. So what is the problem? CONFIDENCE. This is 100% the problem. Confidence is everything in basketball. When you think about it, you are trying to throw a ball into a basket that, from the…[Read more]

Big12 ball is much easier to watch than Pac12 ball was. They used to call fouls every time down the floor. Completely ruined the flow of the game, and every game turned into a FT contest halfway through each half.

Are you a child or just mentally challenged? Shouting something on the internet doesn’t make it true. Dawes is NOT our worst FT shooter, not by a long shot. Lovering is worse by a substantial margin. Dawes is a 69% FT shooter, which isn’t good, but it isn’t awful either. As bad as our team is from the line, I’d wager to say he is one of our better…[Read more]

Every day there are dozens of joe shmoes at any local rec center that can hit 8/10 free throws. Shitty free throw shooting is proof of a lack of effort, focus, and conditioning in practice.
When I played HS ball, our coach made us run ladders at the end of practice then he would pick a random player to shoot a free throw. If they missed we had to…[Read more]

we need someone that has a green light to allow the other guys to get open. Without Madsen, even when he is chucking bricks, we would have no real three point threat and our offense would come to a screeching halt.

1. Smith is a better coach than Young, at least he was tonight. He drew up several good plays (one of the coaches did anyway), and the team played stellar defense the entire game. He may be an awful recruiter, but he’s a better in-game coach than KY.
2. Good players:
– Ausar: super timid first half, passed several wide open layups for questionable…[Read more] - Load More
