I can see double the carries, but not double the snaps. Bernard should be the guy on most obvious passing downs. JJ should be the guy most of the time when running is advantageous.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Good read on Utah’s 6’4 cornerback transfer from the SEC. in the forum Football 1 year, 12 months ago
I get the feeling that Vaughn hasn’t quite put the technique aspect of the position together like they had hoped he would. I could be totally wrong, but it just feels like he’s getting passed up by other guys.
Hopefully, that isn’t true because a lockdown corner with his athleticism and length would be a tremendous asset. Either way, we have a…[Read more]

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Cole Bishop getting Preseason Love in the forum Football 2 years ago
We won’t be better without Phillips. Vaughn has ridiculous length and he’s a great athlete, but he is very raw. Broughton is good, but he was never the shutdown guy Phillips was. If they both take substantial steps forward we might be as good as last year at that position. That isn’t likely though.

Delon was a transfer. He definitely changed things.

Wow… Two fallacies in one opening sentence, Impressive!
No. I am not saying that they are on par with the LK players you mentioned. Where did you get the idea that I was saying that?
Also, I did make an argument of my own, and refuted your bad argument.

This is a terrible attempt at analogizing two completely different situations. As you point out the guys that have left are not impact players. Holt rarely played, I don’t even know who Mecham is, Saunders rarely played and is on his 3rd or 4th team now. The guys you mentioned from LK’s tenure (martinez, plummer, Larsson, Allen) were all core…[Read more]

Chris Jones is at least a good coach that had done a lot of good for the U (and the state of Utah) prior to LK hiring him.

Ugh… Seriously?
This team is ahead of schedule. That much is obvious. We took pretty much the exact roster we had last year and won 6 more games (all of those extra wins came in conference, not because of a terrible OOC schedule).
Worster, Madsen, Carlson and Stefanovic all showed clear improvement from last year. Carlson and Madsen in…[Read more]

I would laugh my butt off if he got picked that high. Dude is not a good QB. He’s fine, buthe is a less accurate cam newton.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Can we quit buying the facade? Please in the forum Football 2 years, 1 month ago
I don’t think that is necessarily the case. The problem with the media deal (and the comparatively low money amount) may be the result of perceived instability rather than a reflection of the value of a stable pac 12.
Could a stable Big12 be worth more than a stable Pac12? Of course. Is it clear that this is the case though? Nope, there are o…[Read more]

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Jakob, Delon, Kuz all started in the same game tonight in the forum Basketball (Men) 2 years, 1 month ago
Kuz had 30, Jakob had 23 (and 13 boards), Delon had 7 points, 11 assists, and 3 steals (IIRC).
They are all great representatives of the UofU.

Do you feel like you taste (like the literal sense of tasting things with your mouth) has changed as you’ve aged?
I was just eating some Big Chewy Nerds (great candy BTW, but Nerds Clusters are the GOAT), and I realized that I liked the lemon and Orange flavors the best. I have found this to be true with Skittles and Starburst as well. I like the…[Read more]

Ted Lasso probably has a pretty good understanding of our backup QB situation. I think it’s fair to say Cam at 80% is probably better than the others at 100%.

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Apple TV in the forum Football 2 years, 1 month ago
If Apple TV allows us to be competitive financially I’m fine with it regardless of how accessible it is to casual viewers. If we win the Pac12 we’ll get a spot in the playoff regardless of whether people watched our conference games or not. If we make the playoff consistently we will stay relevant. Money is the #1 factor in whether or not we stay…[Read more]

chinngiskhaan replied to the topic Looking to next year, do we have anyone decent committed? in the forum Basketball (Men) 2 years, 1 month ago
Even if we don’t find anyone to replace Anthony, we’re still going to be better next year.
With how good Smith and Burgess are with player development, I’m excited to see what they can do with Keita next year. They helped Anthony learn to shoot a little bit. Everyone on this team is much better than they were last year. If Carlson stays, we’ll…[Read more]

I’m not sure about the future of the Pac12. I think Utah will be fine either way. I lurk on CB, and I’ve noticed that they seem to think Utah wouldn’t/shouldn’t get an invite to the Big12 because BYU already brings the Utah market, and that’s all that matters (more eyeballs = more money). The thing is, better football teams create a more…[Read more]

No worries. The more I think about it, the more I think that if Ludwig is GOING to leave, now is probably the best time to do it (well, not NOW NOW… the best time was right after signing day, but whatever).
Honestly, I think losing Harding would maybe be harder on the team than losing Ludwig, as strange as that sounds. I’m not convinced, but it…[Read more]
