CityCreekUte replied to the topic How do we feel about Snoop joining the Browns? in the forum Football 6 months ago
I think it’s a bad decision. Being on the Ravens behind Lamar gives him time and money and being around a culture with winning experience. If he was getting significant money to go play for a loser team like the Browns then ok it’s a risk and a payoff. That’s not what he’s getting.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Utah is next — NAACP backlash from anti DEI legislation in the forum Football 6 months, 1 week ago
this post almost seems like a troll.
Anyone who was going to care about this was not going to play for Utah anyway because they wouldn’t be the kind of player who “becomes us”

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Dying love of recruiting in the forum Football 6 months, 2 weeks ago
My feeling is you can have a transfer portal or an endless NIL but you can’t have both.
NIL money doesn’t kill the game if you pick your school and stay there.
Transfer portal becomes less of an issue if you aren’t incentivizing it with $$$I don’t think the NCAA will win much in the NIL world because it’s booster money but I do think they have…[Read more]

Really cool to be able to do that kind of data analysis.
Every team on your top 20 I can see why is ahead of Utah (Nebraska would be my biggest question not MSU) but what I’d be most curious about is the trend lines. I have a hard time believing that over the course of the last 20 years but especially since joining the PAC12 Utah wasn’t the…[Read more]

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Now This Spells the End for College Sports as We Know It in the forum Football 7 months, 1 week ago
As long as football pays for football and basketball for basketball I’m just fine with it.
When football pays for tennis and volleyball and has to pay football salaries that’s nuts to me.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Portal and NIL destroying the spirit and tradition of colllege football in the forum Ute Hub Site 8 months ago
100% the people reshaping the world of college football are destroying it so they can build it up to be the money making machine they want it to be. And which btw, they are doing an absolute helluva job doing.
TV money doesn’t care about teams, players, coaches, schools or any of it. They care about eyeballs and selling commercials. If the…[Read more]

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Opt outs and the portal killing Bowl games in the forum Football 8 months, 2 weeks ago
I think it’s less corrupt now then it was when bowl games were the thing. It wasn’t much different than the Olympic committees when the idiots with their themed coats and fruit baskets would come to see if they were going to invite you *wink wink*
Now it’s just purely about the money. And TV is the money. Season ticket holders meh. Student…[Read more]

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Fire Ludwig in the forum Football 8 months, 3 weeks ago
Of all the people to blame for that game I think Ludwig is pretty low on the list.
The OL looked like.. well it was hard to see them I am not sure if they were on the field.
Th QB missed everything. Possibly because he was throwing up hero balls to the defense because the only thing he could see was the purple.
JJ being hurt again (is there a…[Read more]

CityCreekUte replied to the topic New Poll: Rate the coaching staff's 2023 Football Season in the forum Football 8 months, 3 weeks ago
I think the coaching has to be considered among if not the worst of Whitts tenure. This was a Jon Hayes season for the second time and that’s pretty inexcusable.
Roster management has to start with quarterback and this year was abominable. And that’s coming off of Whitt calling this the most talented roster he’s ever had.
Compounding that…[Read more]

CityCreekUte replied to the topic How do we know if the SEC is any good? in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
The current system has always had the 5 champions 4 spots problem. If you didn’t sift though every bit of it and said blindly that 3 of them were 13-0 and 2 were 12-1 it’s hard to not say all would be “deserving”. They all had bad games that they won and all had show pony moments.
But as we around here have seen all year and for 2 Rose Bowls a…[Read more]

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Stat to Know in the forum Football 9 months, 3 weeks ago
Well the other undefeated team FSU has been behind in like half their games. I think for both it’s eerily like last year with TCU who managed to pull out win after win in some way shape or form. And what would happen in the playoff.
But I think it’s unlikely they are going to beat Oregon twice.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Why can’t we draw more fans in the forum Basketball (Men) 10 months, 2 weeks ago
College basketball as a sport has gotten far less interesting.
Largely I think the style of play brought on by the age of 1 and done (pick & roll + catch and shoot) has really ruined the game.

Eh. I think the Pig and Duck (Chicken) breakfast is a little more apropos summary.
Pigs get cooked and ducks lay eggs.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Whitt's weekly presser in the forum Football 10 months, 4 weeks ago
I think the bigger issue for me is that he should have known better than to split up the reps. After the Florida game he needed to name next weeks starter right away and go with it. That it took several games to figure that out is pretty baffling to me. The holding on until the last minute was a bad idea no matter whoever was going to run out…[Read more]
