CityCreekUte replied to the topic If Cam was to play – how much difference would it make? in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
Assuming little or no rust we score 30+ a game.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Interesting to note… in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
If he’s anything less that 100% I don’t see a strong argument for this being his return game with a bye and Cal to follow. So I don’t think there’s much discussion because I think there’s a lot less wonder/expectation that it happens.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Offensive Culture in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
It’s a weird time because as much as it sounds good to have our best recruiting class ever it’s also the least important recruiting class ever given the portal and that NIL is the one that rules them all.
A stellar QB will come to Utah if he’s paid enough the team is far too good overall for that not to happen.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Utah's QB dilemma in the forum Football 1 year, 2 months ago
All the reasons why really don’t matter at the end of the day if the guy going out to play QB is NJ he needs to be getting the practice reps.
His ability to develop, to grow the playbook, to find rhythm with other players hinges on it.
So it doesn’t matter if it’s due to physical injury, mental uncertainty, money, doctors or any other reason,…[Read more]

When defenses know what you are running you lose.
Hence why stealing signals is so taboo.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Utes back in the top ten. Do we deserve to be there? in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
being Xth ranked != being Xth best.
We deserve the ranking probably even higher more given SOS.
No idea where we fit in terms of being the best. AP/Coaches don’t really measure that anyway.
Only the playoff rankings that don’t come out until later in the year when teams are a little more known really even try to do it and it’s still a lot of a…[Read more]

Will be interesting to see how much he can play up the ‘when was the last time Colorado won anything’ statement when they were the ones to jump to the Big12.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Please, no more Barnes. in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
There’s enough film on Barnes that opposing teams can gameplay against his weaknesses decision making / hesitations. There really isn’t on NJ yet. There will be and then whatever weaknesses he has will get exposed.
It’s pretty clear Barnes at this point is a higher floor lower ceiling so Whitt will go with him believing that he’s got ‘the most…[Read more]

Wait, we’re in danger of looking ahead to Weber State???????????????
Wowzers I didn’t catch anything about their game this week. Must have been amazeballs.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic just saw the highlights, my thoughts on the game in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
As far as 1st game of the year goes I think it was as good as you can really hope.
No turnovers from the offense a couple big plays
On defense several sacks, no big plays and a pick
Really good kicking so solid play from each groupThis coming against a very talented if not quite all put together team. I don’t think Mertz is scaring anyone and…[Read more]

Cam, Kuithe, receivers whatever…
I’m 100% all in on the 2023-2024 being 100% on JJ. I think where he goes is where we go this year.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic This makes me want to puke in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
I mean the SEC taking Missouri and ATM was where this started. If the PAC had chosen to take Texas and Oklahoma when that’s what they were looking for the PAC would be the 14 team conference cherry picking 2 more team if they so desired.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic New Poll: How do you feel about the Utes going to the Big 12? in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
Miserable.
Every single PAC road game had some appeal. 2 of the least appealing 2 of the 3 that are going with us.
I don’t like the culture fit at all. 4 texas teams ugh.
I’m happy with OSU KSU even ISU.
Not at all thrilled to go back to being in the same conference as BYU. -
CityCreekUte replied to the topic How Will Conference Scheduling Work With 16 Teams? in the forum Football 1 year, 4 months ago
It won’t. This is a holding place until 2 24 team conferences emerge each having 2 12 team divisions.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic Proposed Apple Deal: How much is enough? in the forum Pac-12 1 year, 4 months ago
I think what it’s going to take is someone who will put their foot in the ground about the time slots and actually compete with ESPN/Fox. It’s never going to work for an Amazon or Apple or any other streaming service if they give away the marquee games instead of lining them up at the exact same time as B1G and Sec and other conference games are…[Read more]

I don’t see why the Big12 would be better than than the PAC-X
“Losing” Colorado isn’t losing much. And if Arizona goes I’m not why the PAC would be sad to replace them with SDSU and SMU. It keeps the Phoenix area market adds back in SoCal and Dallas and loses Boulder and Tuscon. Yeah I just don’t see the loss there. It adds 2 bigger markets and…[Read more]

Losing Wazzu or OSU not so much. But Arizona is a blue chip in basketball. That’s worth a lot more than Colorado.

CityCreekUte replied to the topic 22 Forever thoughts in the forum Football 1 year, 9 months ago
I don’t see why it would ever go away. I do think it will evolve to a more generic meaning and less about the exact individuals. At some point there won’t be a close connection to Jordan/Lowe but there will always be connections to the program that have been lost and honoring them is a noble tradition and at least while Whitt is around fits the…[Read more]
