CornellUte started the topic Offensive Staff Turnover? in the forum Football 2 weeks, 1 day ago
Sorry if this has already been discussed, but with the hiring of Jason Beck as OC, what does that mean for the likes of Harding, Q, Fred, Whitted? I’d assume that Beck would want to bring in his own people, and it’d be a bad indicator of Whitt’s loosening his grip on the offense if Beck was forced to retain certain position coaches on the…[Read more]

CornellUte started the topic Coach Whitted Intel on Mertz? in the forum Football 1 year, 3 months ago
Haven’t seen discussion on this, and very well could have missed it, but: how much of an advantage do you think that Coach Whitted will provide in preparing for Graham Mertz? As he spent the last 3 seasons with Mertz in Wisconsin coaching the WRs, I’d expect him to know Mertz quite well. While it’s a new offense with Florida, seems like this…[Read more]

CornellUte started the topic Xavier Carlton in the forum Football 3 years ago
Anyone know the story with the lack of PT for Xavier Carlton? He seemed to play well early in the year, and then wasn’t seen the 2nd half. Was he injured? Really liked what we were seeing with him, and would have a really strong rotation at DE with Carlton, Fillinger and Elliss.

CornellUte replied to the topic Anyone here successfully transferred football season tickets to a trust? in the forum Football 4 years, 9 months ago
The advantage (hopefully) would be transferring the tickets to be held by an entity such that our family could own them in perpetuity (rather than having them go away upon death). Also avoids my parents having to deal with paying for the tickets, etc. but allows my siblings and I to deal with it.
the downside, as you put it, are that you have…[Read more]

Parents are looking into transferring tickets to a trust; is that something anyone here has attempted to do/know if that’s feasible with the ticket office? No info I can find on their website giving any helpful information.

CornellUte started the topic Pro Day Cancelled? in the forum Football 4 years, 9 months ago
Assuming Pro Day is cancelled, seems like this most adversely impacts Zack Moss (given he was going to re-run his 40). Anyone who this benefis or hurts? It seems like both Javalin Guidry’s and Burgess’s stock could only go down, so good for them.
Seems like some NFL team will get a STEAL in Moss whereever he ends up getting drafted. Any…[Read more] -

Is the conference tipping its hand by having Chase and Harry pictured at the top? Or is this a troll job?

CornellUte started the topic How does Shelley's new role impact Daniels' recruiting? in the forum Football 6 years, 1 month ago
When Tyler was healthy, and after Tuttle left, that was the best “scenario” for Daniels in terms of future (i.e., coming in with a Sr. QB, and no clear heir-apparent). But now, does Daniels sit back and wait and see how Shelley performs? If Shelley lights it up, does that influence Daniels to go elsewhere? Will be interesting to see.

CornellUte started the topic Paging OnlyU in the forum Football 6 years, 1 month ago
Today in his presser Whitt mentioned “4-5 Freshman” that could play immediately under the redshirt rule who they’d think of putting in now that they’re in the final 4 games. Any insight on who those guys could be, or what position groups we could see them come in at?

Definitely a downer about Tuttle leaving the program; this kind of a “break-up” may have a silver-lining down the road and may eventually be fine, but certainly not a great look for the program.
That said, this reminds me a lot of a couple of Utah transfers with incredible pedigrees ala Tuttle who made limited contributions. If you look back at…[Read more] -

It’s interesting to read all the criticism of Whitt and the lack of offense. While I totally agree it’s frustrating, I remember the 80’s football teams, coached by Fassel, who’d often get into shootouts with other WAC opponents, where offense was the least of the issues. (As a side note, am I the only one who fondly recalls the nachos you could…[Read more]

CornellUte replied to the topic Huntley Question (*ahem* Utah/OnlyU in particular) in the forum Football 6 years, 3 months ago
I’ve heard that, which begs the question if the offense should be adjusted to account for his number of carries. I like Huntley, guy’s got a ton of talent. Just wish he’d have about 10 less carries per game.

CornellUte started the topic Huntley Question (*ahem* Utah/OnlyU in particular) in the forum Football 6 years, 3 months ago
I know this has been raised a number of times, but what’s been seen in fall camp or been communicated by the coaching staff that Huntley “gets it” about handing the ball off more and not keeping it in the read-option? Going back watching games from last year, it seems like this is just his playing style. Not only does it raise durability…[Read more]

CornellUte replied to the topic Hearing that Tim Patrick will be 100% on Saturday. Anyone know if in the forum Football 8 years, 1 month ago
Honest question- it sounds like even if Marcus could come back, he wouldn’t be at or close to 100%. Assuming that, is a ~70% Marcus Williams a better option than Fogal? My thinking is just that, with the bye week coming up, if I were Whitt, I’d sit Marcus this week (unless by some miracle he’s fine), with the idea that he’ll essentially have a…[Read more]

Tony- love the site. Add another uf.n refugee to the list.
