So far this morning, 3 teams have won while throwing for under 100 yards. Georgia Tech, Boston College and Navy (obviously). The first two teams were upsets.
I guess the point I’m trying to make is that by game 9 or 10 of the season, teams should know what they do well and lean on it. And I don’t have a clue what Utah does well on offense.…[Read more]

don’t eat any. Your reasoning at that point in time was as valid as mine.
I’m just at the “root for chaos” point of the season

Then he didn’t need to commit to Utah. But that doesn’t preclude Utah from offering which is all anyone is questioning in retrospect.
The only reason to not offer is if you are afraid he might accept. And based on the results of the 3 times I know of where Utah agreed to stop recruiting the position if a kid committed (Tuttle, Costelli,…[Read more]

or one could argue that both teams had the same amount of time to work on shoring up their weaknesses for the stretch run of the season.
Anything else sounds like the buildup to the Arizona game where 80% of the posts on here were about how Utah would fix everything that ailed them over that bye week and finally start playing like the…[Read more]

People keep referring to some advantage Utah has because of the bye week. Do they not understand that the parochial school also had last week off?

It’s not the team I mind. It’s all the other crap involved with playing them. If they’re having a great season, good for them. But I don’t want Utah to beat them any more or less than any other team on the schedule.
For me it goes back to when I was a kid. I grew up in a town of about 60k with 2 high schools. I played sports all my life so I…[Read more]

How many of you were in the mob downvoting @Chinngiskhaan when he said that Pittman would never amount to anything when the transfer news was announced? New WR Commit

If you’ll go with “could have dominated”, I’ll join your chorus. There aren’t any truly great teams in the league this year so it was open to anyone who could limit their mistakes, as evidenced by the parochial school.
For anyone willing to look at Utah realistically, there were some positional concerns going into the season. And it seems like…[Read more]

I believe he has a “floating kneecap” which needs to be replaced. At one point, people were talking about trouble finding an acceptable cadaver donor. And with a 6 month projected recovery, timing of the surgery would be important so that he doesn’t miss a season.
It doesn’t appear to be something that can be made worse by playing, other than…[Read more]

Yes, he had a bad game. The thread is about how True Freshman QB’s are largely unsuccessful and Daniel’s True Freshman season was anything but.
Now if you want to discuss how the 2018/2019 versions of the Utah defense made ALL QB’s look like crap, I can get on board with that. But it’s not really relevant since they didn’t limit their damage…[Read more]

You’re focusing on one bad game for Daniels that was played in horrible conditions and ASU was missing multiple starters on the OLine. He threw for just short of 3k that year, had a 17:2 TD/INT ration and his highest passing rate until his Heisman year. Daniels was ready game 1 his freshman year and proved it on the field. He threw for over 400…[Read more]

Yep, welcome to 2012 Utah Football. Hope to slow the other team down enough so that the defense or special teams can make a play to provide the difference.
Against FBS teams: offense 19.0 ppg, 356.3 ypg; defense 18.86 ppg, 325.4 ypg. That’s the definition of mediocre

that’s the key: the competition level. Utah has played the 120th rated schedule in adjusted win % and can’t be counted on to score 2 TD’s. It’s hard to play the “we’re only a couple of points from being great” game when points are so scarce.
