I was just trying to be funny.
I don’t think any of us knows what Utah is going to look like on Saturday so trying to analyze is pretty much out the window.

There is an aspect of TJ/AL that has to be a constant reminder that they are gone. It’s healthy to move on from that. He can honor them however he feels necessary but I don’t think he would stay around just because of them.

it feels like the same dudes have been front and center on the team for a long time. As great as they have been, I’m ready to see a new look football team.
Count me in on that one. If for no other reason than some of these kids have to be running out of classes to pretend to take after 6, 7 or in some cases 8 years on campus.

which Utah team do you have on that paper of yours? the planned team for 2023, the shell of the plan that was available for Colorado, or the remnants after all of the portal action this month?

I put the link to Devin Lloyd’s 247 page above. He was a 79 for 247 and .8219 in the composite. Bartle admitted years ago that it was a huge evaluation miss. Part of the problem with evaluating Lloyd was that he played WR and S in High School. He wasn’t a prospect at either of those positions. Much like Covey wasn’t a prospect as a college…[Read more]

I thought that was a true statement. But based on the number of downvotes I’ve gotten, apparently Utah should concentrate all of their recruiting on kids rated around .82 in the composite since the staff will make all of them into Devin Lloyd.
Utah just needs to quit wasting time recruiting blue chips and everything will work out perfectly.

Are you referring to Chinning? He said he would change his name if Pittman turned out to be a great pickup. I think the name is safe.

Doesn’t sound like one to get excited about either

Interesting. I’ve never heard of a statistical model that ignores the most recent data when trying to identify trends.

But how could Jackson have gotten NIL offers from other schools if he’s not in the portal? It’s almost like there aren’t any rules governing contact with players.,,

oh sure, ratings aren’t perfect. I believe that only half of all 5 stars (not just QB’s) end up getting drafted. Still, that’s a lot higher hit % than 4 stars and way more than 3 stars. For those people that want to point out someone like Devin Lloyd, yes, he made it. Something like 97% of 3 stars don’t.
The blue chip ratio is also a real…[Read more]

It’s not a coincidence that the last 4 players to commit are also the 4 lowest rated players in this year’s class. The staff is on plans D, E & F at this point because they couldn’t get the one’s they really wanted. And for the most part, the only kids who are even showing interest this late in the game are all in-state.
I want Utah to get all…[Read more]

I get that you are unhappy Utah is joining the Big 12. You’ve made that patently clear in multiple threads. There’s nothing wrong with that emotion.
Most of the hyperbolic reasonings you are throwing out are just flat wrong and too numerous to rebut while still retaining sanity.

The timing is usually the best indicator. Kids have until mid-January to put their names in the draft. Announcing to transfer or enter the draft before their team plays in the postseason usually means that they are done playing for their university.

every home/home with a G5 he’s signed up has been road first and coincides with the years Utah is set for 5 conference home games. if it happens every time, it has to be deliberate

I’m glad State is back on the schedule but I would like to know why Harlan seems allergic to getting 7 home games when it is the practice of every other P5 to do so. For years with 5 conference road games, there should always be 3 home non-con.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Does Carsen Ryan mean we are worry about Kuithe in the forum Football 9 months, 1 week ago
Ryan coming doesn’t say anything about Kuithe since they don’t play the same position. It’s just an opportunity to correct a recruiting miss from 2 years ago at a position of current need.
