Unless someone is a bit more forthcoming with the nature of this injury than they were the last one, I’m not sure how anyone on here can answer your question.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Whitt…. “I’m Back.” in the forum Football 1 month, 1 week ago
Completely expected. Whitt had all the leverage and wasn’t going to leave money on the table for himself or take it away from his friends and family staff who’d stood by him for years.
It doesn’t lessen the stink from the complete pile of doo-doo he oversaw in 2024. The buyout becomes much more manageable after 2025 and I doubt the decision…[Read more]

Agree, players make plays and coaches coach. Execution is some combination of both.
It’s just counterintuitive to me to replace the roster while keeping largely the same staff. Because wasn’t that staff in charge of finding and coaching up the players to the point where they could execute at the required level?

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Our QB and RB rooms are empty in the forum Football 1 month, 1 week ago
I like the optimism Charlie but Utah is now in roughly the same position Colorado was two years ago when this board pretty close to unanimously said it was not possible to replace whole rooms and build meaningful chemistry in a single offseason. Unless Whitt has a first round QB nephew that I’m not aware of and can bring a former top rated…[Read more]

They’re burning down the wrong building!
We liked the players Utah had, we just wanted them to be led better

2008 National Champ replied to the topic If SMU Doesn't Get into the CFP in the forum Football 1 month, 1 week ago
I just never saw a reason for the Pac-12 to eliminate themselves which was always the risk. Sure Utah and SC should have won their games to prove that they were the best team in the conference but those weren’t the stakes. It was always the faint hope that by beating someone you had usually already played that year would be enough to overcome…[Read more]

Two season ending injuries and not feeling like I was ever given a real chance would have me looking elsewhere if I was in Rose’s shoes. Would you want to start at ground zero with the potential of the new OC bringing in his guy to start over you?

Conference Championship game cost Utah in 2019 and SC in 2022. Both one loss teams that had an argument for the playoff until they lost the CCG. I’ve wanted those CCG’s gone for a long time.

Yep. same look as Colorado’s. I think it was necessary for Track & Field when that was in the stadium.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Great ACC CG in the forum Football 1 month, 1 week ago
I think that’s already decided but the committee is rewarding conference membership over schedule. I’d rate Tennessee’s schedule at 112 and Indiana at 120, with South Carolina at 19 and Alabama tied for 5. You don’t need a committee if the only thing that matters is least losses in each conference. Just go with the 3-3-2-2-1 method

Almost. The parochial school was undefeated this year because they gained more yards than Kansas and scored more points in the 2nd half than Arizona State.

I’d put SMU ahead of Alabama.
#1 Oregon <— winner of #5 Texas v #12 Clemson
#2 Georgia <— winner of #6 Notre Dame v #11 South Carolina
#3 Boise <— winner of #7 Ohio State v #10 Alabama
#4 Arizona State <— winner of #8 Penn State v #9 SMU#13 Syracuse first out. #14 Miami (Fl), #15 Indiana & #17 Tennessee didn’t play tough enough…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic WR Bryson Baker Commits in the forum Football 1 month, 1 week ago
follow up:
Cal didn’t take any receivers in their class of 14 (12 signed).
MSU took 2 receivers. One who had been committed since January, the other had been committed since June. And they have a third who has been committed since July but hasn’t signed yet. All 3 were offered long before Baker.
UCLA also didn’t take any receivers in their…[Read more]

Do I know if his offer to those schools was committable? No. Do you?

I haven’t looked at his page, I’m just talking in general.
So he committed on Wednesday, the same day Beck was hired, but didn’t sign yet?

2008 National Champ replied to the topic WR Bryson Baker Commits in the forum Football 1 month, 1 week ago
You extend an offer but tell the kid it’s contingent on someone else choosing a different school. The kid is more than willing to put the offer on his instametatiktokchat because it brings him attention and will hopefully get other schools interested when they do no more than @Anfernee did and look at the offer list.
As I said above, if you were…[Read more]

You don’t think he can Tuttle himself to a couple degrees and maybe a championship ring?

2008 National Champ replied to the topic WR Bryson Baker Commits in the forum Football 1 month, 1 week ago
It’s the timing. You have to do some serious pretzel logic to get yourself to him choosing Utah over the other schools you listed AFTER the early signing period has ended. Without looking at his commitment history, it’s more plausible that he received those offers but was plan B, C or D for those schools and when they filled their HS needs he…[Read more]
