Interesting. A lot of upvotes for him leaving.
How many of you were in the mob downvoting @Chinngiskhaan when he said that Pittman would never amount to anything when the transfer news was announced? New WR Commit

If you’ll go with “could have dominated”, I’ll join your chorus. There aren’t any truly great teams in the league this year so it was open to anyone who could limit their mistakes, as evidenced by the parochial school.
For anyone willing to look at Utah realistically, there were some positional concerns going into the season. And it seems like…[Read more]

I believe he has a “floating kneecap” which needs to be replaced. At one point, people were talking about trouble finding an acceptable cadaver donor. And with a 6 month projected recovery, timing of the surgery would be important so that he doesn’t miss a season.
It doesn’t appear to be something that can be made worse by playing, other than…[Read more]

Yes, he had a bad game. The thread is about how True Freshman QB’s are largely unsuccessful and Daniel’s True Freshman season was anything but.
Now if you want to discuss how the 2018/2019 versions of the Utah defense made ALL QB’s look like crap, I can get on board with that. But it’s not really relevant since they didn’t limit their damage…[Read more]

You’re focusing on one bad game for Daniels that was played in horrible conditions and ASU was missing multiple starters on the OLine. He threw for just short of 3k that year, had a 17:2 TD/INT ration and his highest passing rate until his Heisman year. Daniels was ready game 1 his freshman year and proved it on the field. He threw for over 400…[Read more]

Yep, welcome to 2012 Utah Football. Hope to slow the other team down enough so that the defense or special teams can make a play to provide the difference.
Against FBS teams: offense 19.0 ppg, 356.3 ypg; defense 18.86 ppg, 325.4 ypg. That’s the definition of mediocre

that’s the key: the competition level. Utah has played the 120th rated schedule in adjusted win % and can’t be counted on to score 2 TD’s. It’s hard to play the “we’re only a couple of points from being great” game when points are so scarce.

to be fair, only SUU would be a win if they were to replay the schedule again and that would be close to a tossup. Definitely wouldn’t want to face Baylor again now that they’ve figured their QB out.

whoever wins the Big-12 was always predicted to lose their first game in the playoff, even when many thought it would be Utah. Getting the 4 seed means playing probably #5 which is looking like Georgia, Texas, Penn State, Ohio State or Alabama at this point. That’s a tough lift. I’d love for Utah to have gotten that chance but it would be folly…[Read more]

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Willie Fritz in the forum Football 2 months, 1 week ago
Vegas set their win total at 3.5, they were only returning 2 starters on defense, and needed to replace 4 of 5 starters on the OLine. That doesn’t mean Holgerson ran them into the ground but they also weren’t a team primed for the next coach to get them back to respectable right away.

Lagway is who got hurt. QB3 was a transfer from Yale if I saw the story correct

How about the job he’s done so far?
Took over a bad Houston team that was expected to be a full rebuild. Very possible he gets the team picked to finish dead last in conference to a bowl his first year. Yet another example of a proven coach who steps up a level and gets shit done

chaos week and Utah isn’t in a position to take advantage of it because they pissed the last 4 games away. sheesh

and with all that, their 3rd string QB just ran a nice two-minute drill for a score against a top 15 defense that shut down Ewers

Pretty amazing that the only thing keeping Arizona from a 7 game losing streak is that they got to play at Utah, at night, in a game that Utah was looking for revenge

I wasn’t real impressed when I saw that Utah’s only non-conference home game next year was Cal Poly while they were travelling to Laramie and UCLA.
If I was a season ticket holder I’d seriously consider not reupping with a slate of Cal Poly, ASU, Colorado, Texas Tech, K State and Cincinatti. Be prepared for a lot of late night games that…[Read more]

that’s how the peer review process works. otherwise, it’s just opinion v opinion and neither has to prove a thing to the other. but I did find it rich that the 2nd person felt the need to tell the OP that he needed to research and prove his opinion while providing nothing of his own.
