And since Harlan has already handpicked Whitt’s successor, Utah’s hands are effectively tied through the end of Whitt’s and Scalley’s contracts. you’re forgetting the immense strategic advantage he’s gaining over teams on the 2025 schedule by not announcing. They’ll have to plan for 17 different possible coordinators and 2 different head coaches.

It worked so well with QB’s, why wouldn’t he lean on the same strategy for coaches?

I know you’re joking but with the new roster limits and teams devoting more spots to the portal, the chances for HS recruits are getting smaller. Better to take the guaranteed spot for a year than decommit at the last minute if you don’t have another landing spot already set up.
