I agree. That’s also the reason why I’d be shocked if Rising was back with the team. Obviously, Utah won’t push him out but he’s got to know that there’s little chance that he would get any playing time and that his NIL gig would be over.

I just have to wonder what the decision process is for some of these players. For example, in my estimation, Utah was the last P4 chance for a guy like Huard, who’s already had opportunities and proven to be found wanting. My guess is that Huard goes back to some FCS program in a quest for some automatic playing time.

Which one? Walker Eget or Emmett Brown? San Jose State this season reminded me of FSU in the late 70s in the sense that they used two QBs extensively.

Regarding Rising, those are exactly my thoughts. His leverage is zero. If he’s healthy, or as healthy as he can possibly be, then he’d make a decent veteran backup. However, that’s also dependent on what offense Beck installs. I do hope that you’re correct about Dampier.

If he wants to stay, no problem, but his cut of NIL has to be zero.

This happens all the time in all sports. Neither Rose nor Wilson is a Beck guy. I’m just thinking that when you bring in a new OC, a lot of times both the players and the coordinator are more comfortable starting with a blank slate, meaning the player going somewhere else and the coordinator looking for someone specific to run his system.

Well, that’s the beauty of modern college football. Now, he gets a second bite of the apple and live out his life long dream of being a Spartan. San Jose isn’t a bad place to go to school. If he’s smart enough he can get a job at Google after he graduates.

Just me, but I’m thinking that NIL is not a feature of Rose’s or Wilson’s departure. I would say that it’s more related to the possibility of getting active playing time.

I see him as a candidate for the new PAC or the MWC. Maybe he can sign on with an SEC or B1G bottom dweller. I doubt that say a Georgia or a team of that ilk would have any interest in him given his tape.

Gotta say, trust the process. I’m not worried because none of the guys that are leaving are key contributors. Now, if it’s April and nothing much has changed, that’s when I’ll start raising red flags.
