Just as I thought, the loss to ASU has been annotated as a Quad 3 home loss. Any one of those essentially start making you radioactive to the tournament selection committee. If Smith doesn’t right the ship in the remaining five games, I don’t know where we go from there. There might be 100 people in the stands for home games next season.

Frustrating, that’s all I can say. Utah looks it’s still groggy from the 3OT loss to Zona. I can’t emphasize enough how much of a bad loss this would to be in the Utes’ tournament resume.

Maybe only when they play Utah. I mean, they just got blown out at home by a bad Cal team.

Free throw shooting hasn’t improved. Only 4/9 so far this game.

The Utes play on the road in five of their last seven games. They need this victory or it’ll be seen as a bad loss on their tournament resume. And let’s face it, even though ASU blew out Utah in Tempe, they’re a bad team that’s lost routinely in double figures this season.

But hey, none of this happens if Bill O’Brien hadn’t pulled a Bellichick and left to be the HC at Boston College moments after being hired as the OC at tOSU.

Kelly’s buyout called for him to receive $8.5 million if he was dismissed before December 2023 and $4.27 million if he was terminated before December 2024. Those were the numbers based off his latest entension.

The Utes had a three minute scoring drought in the 3rd OT. Impossible to win like that.

The Utes needed this game badly. The biggest problem is that five of the last seven games are on the road. They need two or three road victories to feel good about postseason chances.

Arizona: 15-17 from the foul line. Utah: 6-15 from the foul line. That’s the story of the game right there.

Yeah, the number of shots in the 3-5 foot range they missed in the first half was mind boggling.

I completely agree. I posted something almost exactly the same a while back and used the example of various professional soccer teams in Latin America. There are a number of teams whose name is Universidad XXXX but are completely professional entities.
