I don’t know, prior to going to Arizona, Fisch has spent almost the totality of his coaching career in the NFL. He might leave for the NFL where he doesn’t have to worry about recruiting, NIL, and the portal. In many ways, being an NFL head coach is so much simpler now.

That Houston team you mentioned had one of my still favorite players of all time. The Big E, Elvin Hayes. Thanks for bringing back the memory.

Lazar’s problem is that he’s a backup player thrust into a starting job. He’s much better coming in with the second tier crew than when having to play significant minutes and carry a heavy scoring load.

I agree with that. Utah is much better than when Smith took over but, boy, does UCLA suck.

Not much you can say about a guy that has a 33% FG percentage and shoots 30 from 3PT range.

Charlie, UCLA this season is probably the second worst team in the PAC after Cal. And Cal beat them about a week ago in Pauley Pavilion. Stefanovic was the same Stefanovic we saw at Utah. He’s still a slow, mediocre outside shooter that turns the ball over too much. At least his degree will be worth something.

I agree…I’ve been using it the last couple of years for basketball and gymnastics meets and have no complaints.

You shouldn’t feel any remorse for him at all. He made his own bed. He thought that he was going to a better team and it’s turned out to be just the opposite.

Eagle, it’s just so hard to win the CFP. Look at Michigan and how many times it took for them to actually win it. This even with all the resources in the world, Top 10 recruiting classes every year, and one of the best coaches in the nation. Ute fans should just enjoy the journey. Anything beyond that is gravy.

Utah needs to win this game. UCLA is horrible this year due to all of the great players they lost. I mean, they just lost to Cal, the worst program in the PAC, at home and it wasn’t particularly close.

There’s free parking at the Public Safety Department across the street from Rice-Eccles and take the shuttle that drops you off right at the arena. That’s what I’ve been doing the last couple of years.

Unless he’s a graduate transfer, he’d have to sit out next season with Utah. He already used his freebie going from Zona to USC.

Is JJ a grad transfer? I wasn’t aware of that…but good for Malachi if he can condense a four year degree into three years at the same time he’s playing football full time. Not many players can do that.

Here’s the thing though…you can only transfer without having to sit out a season once in your college athletics career. The only caveats to that are if your Head Coach gets fired or goes to another job or if you can show some extenuating circumstance, like s family medical situation, which requires you to be closer to some specific regional area

Well, let me tell you. The way I would think is that Cam’s coming off an injury, Utah’s a top team, and, even if I don’t start, I’m set up for next season and the ability to collect beaucoup NIL for a couple of years. Of course, that scenario sort of derails the Isaac Wilson experience.

Sure I understand that. But, at the same time, Whitt is the CEO of the team and has final say on all recruits and sets the recruiting priorities.
