This is going to sound arrogant but Utah is a top 15 program now and I expect that will continue.
Top 15 programs don’t hire first-time head coaches. While I’m a huge fan of Scalley and I’m sure that he will be an HC sooner than later, for Utah’s program’s sake his first HC job should not be here.
Legacy hires for legacy’s sake is not a good idea and there are quite a few examples of that like frost at Nebraska, Detmer at… nevermind they’re irrelevant, and Neuheisel at UCLA,

Utah’s passing game has completely owned the short middle third of the field through the first 3 games and ASU tried to shut that down and did for a little while. I suspect that OSU will try to do the same with either the LB’s or the Nickle sitting in the short middle zone and without Kuithe they will try to bracket cover or man up Kincaid. I’m hoping that Utah’s offensive plan will be to own the flats with either Bernard, JJ, or Dixon from 12-man bunch sets. I also think that we will see more contributions from Logan Kendall not only from blocking like the beast that he has been but also from either receiving or running.
I think that it is crucial that Utah does not fail to score in the red zone. I know that Coach Whitt likes to go for it on fourth and short at the goal line and the analytics say it’s the right choice but that has not gone Utah’s way and something needs to be fixed.

I didn’t see the Tooley incident so I’m not going to comment on that one.
The ejection is the unfortunate part of the targeting rule. While I think that both of the targeting calls by rule were correct, I don’t believe that either of the incidents was so bad that they warranted being ejected from the game.
I would like to see a level 1 and 2 of the targeting call where the first level is like the ones from last night’s game and the second level is that of a head-hunter type hit where the defender is overly aggressive and dangerous. a level 1 still has the 15-yard penalty with an automatic first down and that the level 2 has the same in-game penalty but with an extended ejection of that game and the entire next game.

With the Sling Bule + Orange and the sports package you can get the ESPN’s, FS1 and FS2, and the PAC12 network. they do not carry the big 4 over the air networks but you can use an OTA antena fo rthose channels. lastly there has bee a time ot two when the games was on the CBS Sports Network which is not on Sling.
There is also FuboTV which is a bit ore expensive but has more channels.
YouTubeTV does not carry the PAC12 network nationally.

What makes you think that Covey won’t return for his super senior year?

Coach Whitt totally understands the TDS fan base. With them, and most fan bases when it comes to their rivals, it doesn’t matter what he says. Any comment that Whitt makes, good, bad, or even if it is not about them at all, will be taken as a slap in the face.
