Due to turnovers or just frustration, Cal has at least 1 scoreless quarter.

I agree, no let down, but I don’t think we will see another blowout. Cal’s offensive strengths are much different than Oregon. Their accurate quarterback (understatement) and talented receivers are a whole different problem for this defense to deal with. I think Oregon’s offense was especially susceptible to a dominating interior D-line.
I predict no let down and a possible double digit win, but not a blow out.

Wow, thanks for putting in the time to put that together. Good stuff. I had never noticed the pulling guard on Booker’s touchdown throw. They really went all in to sell the run there, and it worked.

Just think how good Travis Wilson would be if he didn’t have to cart those huge brass balls everywhere.

Ahhhhh. Our first Utehub fight.

I was really disappointed with the scheduling agreement between the PAC12 and BIG10 fell through because I thought it was the perfect setup for out of conference scheduling. 1 game with a medium to great P-5 team and then 2 games with G5, usually with one being a local team.

The Michigan version was a disaster, the Utah State version was a lot better.
I’m not sure what the best answer is, because it is not my area of expertise. But the good news is that whoever is in charge of this seems to have also figured this out. The reason the whole thing sounded better against Utah State is that they included actual drummers from the band in the presentation.
I’m hoping that this means they are actually conferring with musicians who know how to play and create a presentation that can excite a crowd. Hopefully this will lead to further improvement in the whole drum thing. I will say that I have been to a college drum line competition and that was really cool and exciting. If they can generate that kind of excitement into this, then I could see it finally becoming a success.

I’m not sure there is even a question based on the samples we have seen this year. It seems relatively obvious that TW improved during the off season. He is checking plays, looking to multiple options, and just seems more confident in the pocket. If he is healthy enough, there is a great deal of separation between the 2.
I think last year with a smaller sample of KT’s play, the argument could be made that he was a better option. But it turns out the coaches knew what they were talking about and put in the QB who gives us the best chance to win.
That said, I am a big fan of both, and I am fairly certain we will see both start multiple games this year as neither is likely to remain completely healthy all season.

This is a really good breakdown of what we need to see. I would only add getting a strong push from the d-line. I think that was MSU’s biggest advantage on D. Their d-line, including interior , were getting so much push it consistently disrupted the beginning of every run play.
