College basketball is clearly in decline. Many factors contribute. It is the checkers to the chess of the NBA. There is no spacing, the shot clock is too long, there are too many teams generally, and there are far too many teams in the tournament.
As for players, the highest level talent is concentrated on about 5 rosters, the high-mid player…[Read more] -

These are high school kids. Approximately 2% of them will have sufficent drive and talent to achieve professional careers in football. That some blogger gives them more stars than some other kid, based on subjective criteria, is not expressly determinative of their success in college or at any higher level. It may be suggestive but it’s by no…[Read more]

I guess it’s three days old but I just saw the Tyler Hilinski news. Heartbreaking. Words can’t express how tragic events like that are. What a loss generally as well as one for the PAC-12.

FtheY’s recollection may be a bit off. I recall a few of us getting removed from the stands by security for our behavior once or twice. ha ha.

H-bombs don’t need to be accurate. Thankfully TDS doesn’t have a nuclear arsenal, but there are a lot of f-bombs being dropped in Provo tonight.

DieHardUtahUtesFan started the topic Disappointing Oh-fence from Larry K teams in the forum Basketball (Men) 7 years, 9 months ago
It seems to me that Utah basketball has an oh-fence problem pretty consistently since Larry showed up. I like dynamic oh-fence and his teams are hardly dynamic. They take forever to get a play to develop, and against a team like Cal in the Pac-12 Tourney this was particularly obvious. I’m speculating that it is a trust problem. He nonsensically…[Read more]

I always thought it made a lot of sense to put it next to the county jail. That is where it is going to be now assuming it all gets approved. I’m still confused about which location will house which population though. The SLC mayor said the women’s center would be in the city, but it seemed like while trying to appease the populations in the…[Read more]

Before today I’d have called the season a C, maybe a C-. Today? F
Now all we have are “shooters” who can’t shoot and and Collette playing defense like Enes Kanter to look forward to next year.

DieHardUtahUtesFan started the topic super way too early thoughts on next year's men's basketball team. in the forum Basketball (Men) 7 years, 9 months ago
Starting with bad news how many players are likely to transfer, declare, or run out of eligibility? I think the most likely departures are Kuzma, Bealer, and Daniels.
Kuzma graduates in May and I wouldn’t be shocked to see him transfer. I don’t think he should declare for the draft because he’d go second round or undrafted and another year…[Read more] - Load More
