It seems like the term “dual threat” has morphed over the last decade. It used to seem to describe QBs that intentionally ran on about as many plays as they passed. Now it seems like it just means any QB who is very fast when scrambling. I definitely prefer the latter type of QB.

Do we want to see OSU and WSU rebuild the PAC?

You’re happy with our passing game? If not, are you saying that it’s more the fault of our receivers or o-line than our QBs?

For me, our passing game has been so bad for so long, I think the QBs have to be looked at for a lot of the blame. But we’ve gotten relatively highly ranked QB recruits, so the problem has to be in their development.

Barnes going to the portal doesn’t make sense to me.

His dream was to play for the Utes and they gave him more opportunities and put more time and effort into his development than any major FBS program would have. He’s not going to find a head coach who likes him as much as Kyle.

I’m happy with Glover now. He has extremely fast cuts and is decisive. He’s seeing his openings much better.

He doesn’t have the power running down yet but he’s got the body for it and it’s still early in his college career.

The trick plays must be a lot harder to see when you’re on the field because it’s plain as day what’s about to happen when watching on TV.

At least the defense realized it was happening this time but then they looked like they froze with indecision. Seems like a coaching miss.

My only comment about your Nate Johnson thoughts is that a QB can improve their accuracy tremendously with hard work and good coaching during the of season. It’s like learning to shoot threes in basketball – if you’re willing to put in the work and are athletic enough, you will definitely be able to do it.

That was an excellent game. Carlson looked dang good.

You and I are remembering our first few seasons in the PAC 12 very differently. We had no offense – only our defense kept us in games.

Like it or not, Kalani was a very respected coordinator when he left Utah.

Seeing just how bad they are makes me wonder a few things.

When Kalani was a defensive coordinator under Kyle, he looked every bit as good as Morgan does now. But it turns out Kalani was not actually a good coach at all.

Could we wind up just as disappointed in Morgan if he gets the job when Kyle retires?

How did Williams win the Heisman? He looks horrible.

I really hope Whitt talks about this in his peers conference Monday. For the life of me, I can’t understand why there was no adjustment.

He looked faster and healthier against ASU than he had all season. Stupid ankles.

I’m not ashamed to admit I’m excited to watch the Runnin Utes this season. I think Madsen will be reason enough to watch just by himself – such a pretty shot! But the rest the crew looks pretty fun to watch too.

I only watch Utes games so I really only pay attention to quarterbacks that the Utes play directly. On that basis, Bo Nix is the best college quarterback I’ve seen in several years.

NFL scouts were also responsible for Zach Wilson getting drafted number 2 overall.

So….

My answer would be that we just haven’t had “that” player who could draw a crowd in a long long time.

I loved watching Andre Miller back in the day. Then there was a good list of other players I loved to watch over the next several years. After maybe Delon Wright or Jacob Poetl, there just wasn’t anyone that I loved to watch.
