I hope we never go back to trying the dual quarterback thing again but it would be great to see Nate come in for a few RPO tries throughout the game next week. You never know when he’ll take one to the house and we’ll probably need to do something to throw Washington off balance.

DrahtUte replied to the topic Cry on? in the forum Football 1 year ago
I’m okay with college kids crying but agree it’s not cool at the NFL level – unless maybe you just lost the super bowl. The emotion is the main reason college football is so much better than the NFL.

When did you play lacrosse at the U? When I played in the early aughts,I hated playing CU because they were all big and cheapshots.

I’m going to have to disagree about Boulder being a nice place to visit. Colorado has some great areas but Boulder ain’t on that list for me.

DrahtUte replied to the topic It's time to give Bryson a nickname. I propose Babe. in the forum Football 1 year ago
Wasn’t there a story about Cam telling him to go be a Trojan Killer before the games? If the rumors about Lincoln leaving are true, Bryson definitely accomplished that.
I propose we memorialize Bryson as the Trojan Killer.

My thoughts on your post can best be expressed by this quote from Billy Madison:
“At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”

DrahtUte replied to the topic Big XII, two ranked teams. Neither of which will be there next year. Meh. in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago
The only thing about the Big 12 that I’m really down about is that it takes years for rivalries to develop. It’s going to be a long while before the games against anyone in the new conference have as much emotion as last night’s USC game. At least we have history with CU, ASU and UA though.
I am looking forward to playing again against team’s…[Read more]

Um, maybe re-word that last sentence a little.

DrahtUte replied to the topic Have we seen Barnes' ceiling as a QB? in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago
I think Barnes is probably at least equal to Cam as a passer at this point. He might not be the runner Cam was but he’s not a long ways behind.
If Barnes keeps improving in making better and quicker decisions and growing as a leader, we may see him catch up to Cam overall at some point.

DrahtUte started the topic Screw USC and UCLA in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago
I wanted nothing more from this season than to send USC and UCLA off to the Big 10 with big double middle fingers from the U. Wish granted!
Anything else we do this season is just gravy.

I agree completely. He’s already our best offensive weapon. Imagine what he could do for us with his full focus on offense. He’s more valuable to the team there.

DrahtUte replied to the topic Bryson Barnes in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago
I like them kid and think he’s been under rated all season. He throws a decent ball, can run a bit and is tough.
His main shortcoming seems to be some of his decision making. But he’s going to keep getting better at that with experience.
He won’t be a world beater but with our defense, we don’t need him to be.

DrahtUte replied to the topic Whitt said that Rising could come back next year. Do we want that? in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago
You’re right that I’d also not want to leave $1m on the table. But Cam seems like he’s the type to find a lucrative position wherever he goes. I’m not convinced he needs to milk his NIL opportunity for everything he can in order to make lots of money.

I just can’t imagine being the age of Cam or Brant and wanting to spend another year in college. I couldn’t wait to move on once my four years were done – even though I loved the U. Real life was waiting. And these guys have been doing this for around seven years?
I guess it’s completely different when you’re a local celebrity football player but…[Read more]

DrahtUte replied to the topic Looks Like the Lincoln Riley Honeymoon is Over at USC in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago
I’ve only watched bits and pieces of USC games this year but every time I do I see them do something dumb. They might have all the talented players in the world, but they seem to still find ways to screw up.
At least, that’s what I’m hanging my house on this week.

DrahtUte replied to the topic Question regarding Vaki in the forum Football 1 year, 1 month ago
How on earth did Vaki look that much better at RB than Glover? I’ve been a believer in Glover’s potential, but yesterday’s performance by Vaki has me doubting him.
Was it just better offensive line play? Did Vaki even ever play running back in high school? I know he played receiver some.
I’m also trying to recall if there were ever any plays…[Read more]

I think you’re right. Although the one silver-lining to Jaylon going down with minimal contact so often is that he doesn’t put himself at as much risk for injury. As Whitt mentioned, he does seem to have that knack for avoiding big hits.
