I’m not down at all about being in the Big 12 (other than BYU being in the conference).

I’m just down about losing all the great rivalries that we developed in the Pac 12.

And what were you all thinking watching enough BYU games to know whether Apo was good or not?

His touch around the rim now is just such a nice surprise.

Last year he looked like a purely defense-and-rebounds type of big. This year he looks like a reliable low post threat.

I swear I’ve never seen a player suddenly develop touch like that seemingly out of nowhere.

Wait a second…I turned off the game when Texas didn’t recover the onside kick with about a minute left. How on earth did Texas wind up with the ball all the way down at the end zone with a chance to win on the last play?

He had a lot of potential but it was never realized. Bernard is the better back.

I know everyone says he’s a late round pick at best but I’ve also always been told the NFL draft is all about the measurables. I’ve got to think Vaki is going to do very well at the measurables. Best of luck to him!

Agreed – that’s definitely going to happen at some point. It probably will happen sooner than any of us would like.

But for now, we still have one of the all-time great coaches in college football and I’ll bet he winds up getting the Utes an overall win in this season’s portal madness.

The best news is we still have our coach. His job has gotten harder but he’s still the best coach we’ve ever had and is going to find a way to succeed.

I still remember the story about a certain graduate transfer to the Ute football team who couldn’t remember what major he’d just graduated from the other school in.

It seems like we’re going to have to let the runaway train of the portal/NIL situation run completely off the tracks before there will be any appetite for fixing it.

Agreed. If I didn’t love my Utes so much, I would completely tune out college football.

Can someone explain to me why the portal process starts before the bowl games? Why not wait until after the bowl games to open it? Doesn’t having the portal open before just encourage more players to skip their team’s bowl games? I didn’t get it.

One thing Bryson entering the portal tells me is that Cam must be passing the eye test in workouts.

Bryson has seen as much of how Cam is moving as anyone and must be thinking that Cam looks relatively healthy.

If Cam was still hobbling around everywhere, I’ve got to think Barnes would be sticking around.

I just can’t imagine though that there are that many opportunities where a transfer QB will be guaranteed a starting position and will get a lot of money.
