What makes somebody a liberal in your mind? I strongly assume your post is at least partially in response to my earlier comments on partisanship, which is why I’m responding, but I’ve heard this many times before. I’ve been called a bleeding heart countless times on ufn, because I argue passionately for separation of church and state. Often, this…[Read more]

Often, this means arguing for gay marriage, and against any law that has no scientific or logical basis.…[Read more]

This is where I fall, and I have a feeling Thunder’s post was at least partially referencing my comment earlier. I happen to be very passionate about separation of church and state, and equal rights for all (I’m usually arguing for gay marriage as an example). Sadly, those are now seen as “liberal” views, when the country was literally founded on…[Read more]

  • Interesting. Utah’s liquor laws are insane, but I think they will change in coming years pretty drastically. As the older generation of LDS politicians fades away, and SLC continues to shift left I think you’ll see these laws begin to fall. It’s unfortunate that the geezers seem hellbent on tightening things up as much as possible before they’re…[Read more]

  • I agree with your comment about opening a bar in Utah, but do you honestly think this particular law will hurt the ski industry? I’d guess that most people fly into SLC, and take shuttles or Ubers when getting around downtown at night. I really don’t think most folks who are coming into town to ski are looking at DUI laws and thinking they’d…[Read more]

  • He is terrifying. I’m not usually one to compare politicians to Hitler, but when I think about the type of person necessary to push those types of policy objectives and support a leader like Hitler, Miller basically is the prototype.

  • That is why I said this is so depressing. I’ve always accepted the fact that people will have differing political ideologies, and that my own deeply held beliefs may not be correct, but I always believed Americans (overall) were smart enough to see past the patent bullshit. We all know that money in politics is a huge problem and that most…[Read more]
