Still excited about the Makai Cope pickup.
But….all the other WR guys we were in the mix for have crystal balls coming in for different schools. Let’s hope they are incorrect. Any transfers we have a shot at? Thought I heard something about a Penn St. guy having us in his final 3? -

Looks like everyone has crystal balls in for notre dame for Kia now – including Bartle.
Hope we can get some of the big names on the board, like Cope, Ika, Wright, etc.

PSA: new crystal ball from Greg Biggins has Makai Cope headed our way, although only a score of 6. Don’t know much about him, but like that he’s over 6′ tall and a high 3* guy.
fingers crossed -

This is the most dichotomous stat I’ve ever seen for Utah football.
For those that say recruiting doesn’t matter and it all comes down to player development, here’s your proof.
For those that say recruiting is everything, here’s your proof. I fall into this camp – continuing the recruiting trend is paramount if we want to compete at the highest…[Read more] -

Apparently Auburn’s #1 back hit the transfer portal today as a non grad transfer.
Say Utah were to sign him tomorrow. Even though he can’t play until 2021, that would still count against 2020 numbers and scholarships, is that correct?
Opportunity? Or government cheese? -

Was just reading on 247 that with the early Signing period tomorrow, we could essentially be done with our 2020 recruiting class.
If we can get the Fillinger’s and Phillips of the world, this would be huge.
-It would mean no waiting around until February and keeping our fingers crossed for guys to sign
-Coaches would no longer have to split…[Read more] -

What an awesome season we’ve had so far. 2004 was before my time, 2008 was amazing and this year has been great.
Was thinking about next year and what we’ll look like. We will essentially be Washington this year. Here’s why:
We will have to replace a long time starting qb in Huntley, who I think was better than Browning his Sr year. He’ll most…[Read more] -

Crazy how much of a difference the online makes. Huntley made some great throws. Zack Moss was a freight train.

For those that haven’t yet seen this, it’s awesome. Out of all things Mike Leach – locker room losses, jackalopes, Whitt vs cristobal, wedding planning, etc, this one takes the cake.
It may make you download the app to read it. Not affiliated with the Atlantic, but it’s worth…[Read more] -

Bummed to see Nurse hurt. That means we have Tareke Lewis and Jaylon Johnson.
Anyone have any news on Jatravis Broughton? He’s supposed to be a fast true freshman but that’s all I know? -

They poll the guys on chick fil a or the new Popeyes chicken sandwich debate – responses are great.

Haven’t tried the Popeyes one, but chick fil a’s spicy chicken is solid. Wendy’s is always a good choice too, especially bringing back spicy nuggs. -

While BYU and NIU are equivalent in terms of bearing on the rose bowl, I think both may still be impactful:
-we need every single win we can get
-meeting or exceeding a 10 win threshold is a big deal, beating BYU makes that more achievable
-10 wins matters for recruiting and it may even help us land some local kids
-a BYU win helps offset the…[Read more]

Picked up a mid tier 3* safety today, Kamo’i Latu. Graded as an .8499 on 247.
Looks like he had some G5 offers, along with Nebraska, Colorado, Virginia and Oregon State.
This is the first I’ve heard of him. Anyone have any additional information? -
