For the life of me I’ve never understood why people spend money on things they don’t consume.

I once made the mistake of being the registrar for my beer league soccer team. Not exaggerating in the slightest – 50% of the guys paid their $100 registration fee and never showed up for a single game.

Someone help me make sense of it all.

I stand corrected. But my points remain:

1. Playing the game on January 2 hurt the ratings.
2. Screw the NFL.

You only like me for my money.

This is why you don’t move a game that’s literally always been played on New Year’s Day. January 2 was a horrible day for a game – a lot of people didn’t have the day off work.

I came by to check out what I was sure would be totally rational takes following a tough loss and I’m not disappointed.

“False teams” don’t win P5 conference championships. It just doesn’t happen.

I was really encouraged by the improved shooting!

Sorry to strike a pessimistic tone, but if we consistently play offense like that, we won’t win another road game this season. What saved us last night was that Cal absolutely sucks the hind tit. They might be the worst major conference basketball team I’ve ever seen.

I still find it funny that a year ago we were complaining that NIL was going to ruin Utah football. Fast forward a year…we just landed our best recruiting class in history and we’re being accused of tossing briefcases of NIL money at recruits.

Times sure do change, don’t they?

I feel bad for the casuals who have only seen the Runnin Utes these last two games. For whatever reason, this is a very different team away from the Hunty, and I don’t mean that in a good way.

Oh I dunno…a lot of middle-aged women seem to find his photo appealing.

If you only saw this one game, yes. If you’ve seen them the rest of the year, it’s not that hard to care.

I was asking because the offense Utah attempted to run vs BYU-Provo Campus was very different from what they’ve run the rest of the year. I’m not sure if this is a road thing or a coaching thing, but it was very different.

So for those who have only seen Utah play this once, this was not how they normally execute.

Question: How many games have you watched this year?

Maybe they aren’t used to playing in front of an audience

And who do we blame for that?

Utah hasn’t looked good away from the Hunty all season. This result is not surprising.

Probably a bad embed of an instagram or social post.

I’ve never heard of either of those things causing a furnace to not work.

We have a massive annual exodus of players in football too but that doesn’t seem to be harming peoples’ enthusiasm for football.

Do you think the January phenomenon is due to basketball getting more interesting (conference play) or due to football being over, or some combination of the two?
