Ummmm…the Big 12 literally just did the same thing and BYU-Provo Campus was one of the ads, you freaking pinecone.

Both reporters are correct. Utah is having talks with the Big 12 today, and Utah is also denying having talks with the Big 12 today.

And Utah is absolutely playing it smart with the doubletalk. They need to keep both parties on the line until the best situation presents itself.

Another big-time recruit who is obviously not worried about which conference Utah ends up in. That should give us fans a measure of peace.

Make no mistake: The Big 12 would only be serving as our life raft until an eventual B1G invite.

Also, in the last 2 days Utah has gotten two significant commits – one each from Florida and Texas. Would that have happened if there wasn’t good news coming down the line? Research focus and AAU membership make joining the Big 12 unlikely. We are not going to join a conference with a bunch of truck driving schools period. The Board of Regents simply won’t allow it.

Not a chance. The PAC12 will poach 4 teams from the Big 12, effectively killing that conference.

Utah makes so much money off the PAC12’s research connections that we will never leave a research-based conference, and BYU-Provo Campus will never be allowed into a research-based conference, so….

I get it that most people here are pretty much Utah football and basketball fans only. I get it that those of us who like Olympics sports just as much as the “big 2” are the minority.
