There may be positives to doing this, sure. But the net effect is going to be negative. I don’t think most college freshmen – especially those who come from poor families – are going to cope well with suddenly having lots of money. I see much more potential for off-field problems (drugs, partying, etc.).

Yeah, OBJ did it during Cleveland’s game vs. Tennessee ($200k Richard Mille) and he’s been hot garbage ever since. Apparently the football gods are not amused by wearing luxury watches during games. Utah should take a hard pass on that.

Not exactly. The NCAA did not actually change anything. They are “starting the process of considering” whether or not to allow athletes to profit from their likeness.

Yes, the same things applied to the USC game as well. I also gave Utah a 60% chance of winning that game, and I would still give them a 60% of winning that game if it were played again.

I can tell you for a fact that they are going after literally anyone they can get, so long as they are somehow connected to local sports. Their radio personalities are so bad that they need to fill every minute with guests so we don’t have to hear the hosts talk.

I see ASU being better than Colorad9, plus they have more to play for than CU. And with USC being a one-man team on offense right now, ASU will be able to shut down Pittman. ASU wins by 10.

Disagree. After watching USC’s squeaker over Colorad9, I’m more convinced than ever that USC will lose to both Oregon and ASU.

Assuming we beat Cal prior to beating UW, and also assuming the FPIs for the remaining games don’t change from where they are today (an incorrect assumption, but I doubt they’ll move too much)…

For those wondering, if we go by the ESPN FPI, Utah now has almost exactly a 25% chance of going undefeated the rest of the way. Prior to ASU, it was 13%.
