I volunteered as a course slipper at Snowbasin in 2002 and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I’ll definitely be volunteering again.

GameForAnyFuss replied to the topic Star rating system is flawed in the forum Football 7 months, 3 weeks ago
Yep. If stars didn’t matter, Nick Saban would just pull random kids from the student body and win with them instead of spending millions and traveling 200 days a year going after 5 star recruits.
In Utah’s case, I’m reminded of an old saying: “Players win games, coaches lose games, referees ruin games.” I think that’s what Whit has done…[Read more]

GameForAnyFuss replied to the topic Honest question: Urban Meyer hate? in the forum Football 7 months, 3 weeks ago
A story:
My wife was the Director of Student Employment at the U during Meyer’s tenure. She decided to hold an employment fair one February, but in the past they had traditionally been poorly attended by students. We brainstormed how to get more students out, and she finally decided to invite all the athletic teams out to sign autographs in the…[Read more]

GameForAnyFuss replied to the topic This is what is so frustrating about the BYU fanbase in the forum They So Poo Poo 8 months ago
ASU fans are interesting. They think their school is an academic Harvard with the athletics of Alabama. But the reality is that, academically and athletically, they are just Arizona St.

Straight ahead run for a 3-yard TD because we returned the kickoff to the 3 yard line. 🙂

GameForAnyFuss replied to the topic State of Utes MBB in the forum Basketball (Men) 8 months ago
You’re probably right – Craig Smith isn’t the guy. So who are you going to get who’s better? Whoever it is, I bet he costs money.
And how do you keep good players like Deivon Smith? Hint: It costs money.
Look, I get it…not everyone likes basketball. Most of us don’t follow all Utah sports, and that’s OK. I’ll admit it: Swimming has never…[Read more]

“Utah fans, most of which haven’t been to the Hunty in years, act like we deserve better.”
Boom…you nailed it with this statement. It hurts but it’s true.
As a STH who rarely misses a game, I have to laugh while I’m sitting at the Hunty, staring at red chairs all around me, while I read comments online about how we need a better coach (costs m…[Read more]

GameForAnyFuss replied to the topic How do you feel about the hype going into the 2024 season? in the forum Football 8 months ago
I don’t like hype. For any team, any sport, at any level. I know sports hype is a multi-billion-dollar business, but it’s one I refuse to participate in.
There is too much statistical variance in sports to predict it with any level of accuracy, even for experts. And that’s especially true in football where there are so many injuries.
Just win…[Read more]

The wheel route for a TD against Texas A&M in 2003. That was the moment I realized something had changed.

I’m going to wait and see who we pick up from the portal before I declare our cause lost.
Just like the football side of the portal, you always lose before you gain.

GameForAnyFuss replied to the topic 1st Ute FB player in Portal in the forum Football 8 months, 4 weeks ago
Speaking of angry keyboard warriors, everyone needs to remember that we will lose before we will gain. Such is the way of the portal. You can’t have players transfer in until after players transfer out. So for a while it will look like the sky is falling, but once all is said and done, Utah will be a better team than they were before the portal…[Read more]

Probably a lot to do with what day/time the games were. if the NCAA wants eyeballs on the men’s final maybe don’t put it on a Monday night at 9:30 Eastern.
