Since we don’t know if Whit will be in charge next year, then my original point stands. Way too early to write off next year’s offense.

Data suggests that pretty much every team is getting the majority of their offensive production from the portal. Utah will be no different next year. Waaaaaaay to premature to write off next year’s offense.

Teams like ours tend to be really tough at home and crap on the road. The “enemy gym” phenomenon tends to affect outside shooting teams the most.
But hey, I’m not complaining. If we’re competitive in every game at home and losing every game on the road, that’s better than I thought we’d be.

Everything you said is correct. But I would point out that 2 bigs who are supposed to be big contributors (no pun intended) aren’t playing yet. So eventually we may have a bit more inside presence than we do now.

He’s actually been on the roster since about August.
(Yes, I checked because I’m a nerd like that)

What’s the difference between a patriot, a rooster, and a BYU-Provo Campus coed?
A patriot says “Yankee doodle do”.
A rooster says “cock a doodle do”.
A BYU-Provo Campus coed says “any doodle do.” -

Just in time to rescue us from the misery that is college football, basketball season is upon us! To be fair, basketball probably won’t actually rescue us from misery, but at least there will be fewer timeouts along the way.

You just gave me an interesting idea for a sports league business model (doesn’t matter which sport): Require every player on the team to be from that city.

So you’re saying you no longer like basketball because it’s gotten too good? I guess I get that – that’s why I don’t like the NFL.

Blaming Whit for players getting hurt? Do you think he’s out there whacking knees with a bat Tonya Harding-style?

I’m with you. I never boo anyone or anything. Life’s too short to get pissed about sports.

It would be interesting to see some school try this experiment: Give 100% of the NIL money to the linemen (offensive and defensive). Build two lines of 5-star hogs. Dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.
Obviously, that means your “skill” positions would be nothing but 3-stars and 2-stars. But even the most pedestrian QB looks…[Read more]

I think you’ll see good things tonight. TCU is absolutely terrible against the run. They couldn’t stop runs in their underwear. Bernard goes for 150+ and Utah wins a high-scoring game.

That’s really the part about this saga that bothers me the most: That fans were calling him soft, weak, and not a gamer. Cam is many things, but those are not remotely close to being right. If anything, Cam is a warrior to a fault.

GameForAnyFuss replied to the topic Predicting The Rest of The Season in the forum Football 1 month ago
Sports are essentially impossible to predict. Especially football because injuries are so frequent. There’s a reason why companies that make money off gambling flock to sports – the high statistical variance in sports favors those companies making money.
Attempting to apply any type of rational predictive scheme to football is a fool’s errand.

You should actually go walk around Boise St and talk to people on campus. Your envy will end really quick.

The first thing we need is more money. The second thing we need is even more money. And the final thing we need is gobs of money.
BYU-Provo Campus has shown the path to CBB success: A sugar daddy. They’re one Ryan Smith away from going back to being the ward ball all-star team we’ve seen for decades.
